He called a few of those early Monday Night Games.

Former NFL star and longtime sportscaster has died, he was 84 . .

He called a few of those early Monday Night Games.

His ascent as a commentator coincided with me becoming a football fan. I don't have any specific memories of him as an announcer but generally remember enjoying the games that he called.

He died exactly one week short of his 85th birthday. RIP Frank.

i'll never forget him as a broadcaster...for me though, i used to love the pregame build-up on mnf...he would encapsulate both team's seasons to the point of the matchup that night in very succinct manner...what a pro
