I do not know who to thank but also you had to been living under a rock if you have not noticed the 180 degree turnaround for the good guys from the line from the previous two or three seasons. I cannot be the only person who cringed when a Tar Heel other than Paige or Britt came to the charity stripe especially JP. Now I don't have to close my eyes and listen to the audience to tell if the free throw fell thru the nets. Again I don't know who to thank either Coach Davis or the players themselves who put in the additional time before and after practice to work on their stroke from the line but whoever, thanks.

Combo of individual pride and hard work and coaching by Hubes I bet!

Slowly, but surely our weaknesses are disappearing!

I have noticed this as well. The anxiety of watching constant misses is now gone. The heels are stroking it from the charity stripe now. When our bigs are able to hit above 80%, then I am happy.
I would love to see us target their players to get them in foul trouble. Doesn't seem to happen as it use to.

In my head I give credit to Hubert too, but also to the individual guys... stepping to the line, taking it seriously, relaxing, catching their breath, and shooting with good timing and form... not herky jerky jack-up-a-brick... but not overthinking and hoping it'll go in, either.

Hicks and Brice and Meeks have all significantly raised their pro ball earning potential, by being guys who can draw fouls taking it strong to the hole (to varying degrees), then scoring from the FT at a strong rate. Think of all the bigs in pro ball who are a serious liability on the FT line.

Poor free throw shooters Tokoto and Desmond Hubert are gone. Do the math. Brice is shouting much better and Paige and Big Joel worst. Berry didn't play that much last year and is a good free throw shooter. Hubert Davis has helped, but not that much. The additions are more than the subtractions. It's very simple when you look at it.

Hubert made it a priority. The guys bought in and put in the work. Kudos to all. Keep it up.
