Hopefully wins like this will put butts in the seats. I like the 7pm start against Wake. You would think we will have great crowds against Duke and Miami.

I remember many sellouts in my years of attending games. The Torbush and Bunting years have taken their toll. You gotta remember in '85 TV selection of games was limited.

Those were different times. You had to go to Carolina games if you wanted to see them play. Now there's 314 sports channels that cover games ranging from elite SEC battles to the East Montana Polytechnical State University homecoming bonanza. Plus, there's this thing called internet that allows you to watch games any and everywhere. And outside of football, people are just busier on Saturdays in the fall. My kids have soccer games and I have 3 Saturday fundraisers I'm attending before Thanksgiving. There's just more going on now than in 1985. It's the way of the world. I think it's crazy to expect a mediocre team in a mediocre conference to sell out a noon game on a beautiful fall afternoon. Like we've all said, winning fixes that. If we go to the ACC Championship game, expect less enrolment in youth soccer next fall and local charities to suffer.

I was at the LSU game in 1985 with a crowd just like the one in the pic. Eric Lewis was interfered with in the endzone in the 4th quarter and the refs swallowed their whistle. Meanwhile Dalton Hilliard lit us up for about 175 rushing yards.

I was there that day too. LSU had a pair of top LBs who did a lot of damage. One of them was an All American, and LSU fans persisted in saying he was as good as Lawrence Taylor.
