Football practice starts. It is the beginning of the end of summer, and begins our 8+ month march towards the Final Four. Tar Heel nation will awaken this year with great expectations. We have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to. I am as insane a UNC hoops fan as anyone, but what is it about UNC football that stirs up my passion and hope like no other sports team I love (Orioles, Dodgers, Indiana U., Redskins, all USA national sports)? I have pondered this often. Kenan Stadium, our beautiful uni's, decades of promise with exultant seasons, historic players, and a never-ending belief that we can and should be a perreniel top ten team, feeds this. As much as anything this year, I hope that the passion generated by our exceptional football staff and players will be equaled by the fan base. They need our support not only on message boards, but in putting fannies in the seats. Please commit to going to at least one game this year and show your true love for Carolina football. I may be sitting next to you!
