So... speaking of Moo. Just went and picked up a calzone to-go from the local neighborhood pizza joint in my area, and some mid-50s State alumnae tried to passive aggressively pick a verbal fight with me lol. And she did so unprovoked. All I was doing was wearing a Carolina hoodie. I thought she was doing it in good fun, so after her opening snide, I tried to strike up a conversation while I was in line because it's always fun to chat with N.C. folks...

She made it clear she didn't really want to say anything other than her opening remark.

The hate is scrong. Puppers and doggos, man. Puppers and doggos.

The way the place is laid out, the closest tables to the ordering counter are pretty close, like maybe 10 feet away. She and another woman were seated at a two-person table that I had to walk directly by, more or less within two feet of her head. As I walked past and stood in line, she says to her friend, but obviously loud enough that I was intended to hear it because the place was dead, "Well here look at him, I guess he HAS to wear his Carolina shirt..."

It took me a second to register what she said and then register that she was talking to me. I glanced at her but she didn't say anything, so I looked away, waiting to see if she'd say anything else. After another couple seconds I turned back and playfully was like "I take it you're not a fan?"

She goes "I'm kidding. I went to NC State." Trying to make conversation and trying to be a self-deprecating cuz I'm a good guy, I go "Oh really? Most of my family went to State actually, so I'm kinda the black sheep in the family!" and smiled.

**crickets in response** lol. She was just like "oh" and then proceeded to ignore me.

The whole thing was amusing to me. I think she was taken aback that I even acknowledged her original comment.

Damnit. I never use that version and was just trying it on :(
I only tell you this because I know you care about getting it right. I cringe every time I read a Twitter header that says "I'm a UNC Alumni" because that's like saying "I'm a men."

Quick summary:
Alumna = single female attendee/graduate
Alumnus = single male attendee/graduate
Alumnae = plural attendees/graduates, all female
Alumni = plural attendees/graduates, including one or more males

You could have 99,999 female graduates and they would be referred to as alumnae. Sometimes you'll see sororities use this. Add just one dude and it automatically becomes alumni.

Yeah I knew alumni covered all bases so I usually just cheat and use that lol.

Thanks!

Isn't this women's normal response when you try to pitch woo?

I always try to be more sensitive nowadays. I use the term "Alum_no_gender_intended" in conversation.

Make sure to link it. I'm sure the reaction will be priceless.
Give me a few. You have to 1) register, 2) confirm registration, 3) pick a user name, and 4) request poasting access from the moderator. I couldn't complete step 4 since I picked a troll-y name in step 3, so I had to start the process over.

ETA: I'm going to add a sweet avatar before I start taking a dump in every one of their UNCheaters threads. Dis gon be good.

The mods have to approve posting privileges for new posters? That's odd.

I'm gonna do it.
You've read the board. You know how it works. All you gotta do is phrase the thread title as something self-defeating and it'll work perfectly.

Actually, since poast count is extremely important over there, I say toss it in an existing thread. All you gotta do is launch it with a prideful backstory like:

"Grew up in Kernersville, and I've been goin to Pack basketball games for as long as I can remember. I still vivdly recall my daddy putting me on his shoulders, carrying me into Reynolds.

I'm a long-time reader of this board, but I've never posted until now. I felt compelled to share this stat I saw today because of how upsetting it is:

Since taking over in 2003, Roy has as many national titles (3) as we do wins against his Holes team...."

Oh hell no. Not going to all that trouble. I'm coming in hot. Surprise, mother fuggers!

Speaking of pack pride, I went over there for the first time since the championship. There are some great posts so far. I especially like this one.

Some seem to be spending much energy on promoting a UNC-CHeaps "scandal" narrative. The NCAA loves Chapel Hill, the media worships Chapel Hill, and recruits are signing with Chapel Hill. Completely baffling, yes! Not sure, though, if consuming more time on that program moves the meter at all!

If the NCAA loves us so much why do they continue to drag this crap out? The media worshiping Chapel Hill ignores reality, which is nothing new for them. The recruits signing with us is especially funny since they have had more top recruits lately than we have.

They are national champs. We need to let it go.

Not in fifty bazillion years. Evil must be exposed and destroyed no matter how long it takes or how hopeless the cause seems. Truth must be defended and proclaimed until it carries the day. When Elijah was in hiding and thought he was the only righteous man left in Israel, there were still 7,000 that had not bowed to idols. I will not rest until every Tar Hole apologist becomes as the prophets of Baal: slain by the river and plucked by the fowls of the air.

The funniest thing I've seen was found in their "Which PackPride members will NOT watch championship game?" thread:

As you can imagine, the thread features people saying "I won't watch," and as you can imagine -- since this is Moo and they are obsessed with us -- there's relatively few folks definitively saying "I won't watch" because of course they watch every game we play.

Later in the thread, some guy is like, paraphrasing, "I'm with you guys and I'm not watching and haven't watched any of the tourney. But, I'm confused by something. All of us aren't watching and yet I saw that TV ratings for the tourney and the national championship game were both up this year and have been good for a few years. I don't understand this."

LOLOL.... uhmmm, well maybe because college football and basketball's popularity (in terms of TV ratings) are at all-time highs right now? College sports are more popular than ever. Y'all aren't watching because your teams suck. The rest of the nation is watching. Idiots.
