is at Western Michigan.

Western Michigan historically is one of the MAC's bottom feeders. Its one great period was when it played teams that no longer play football or play D2 football, with some playing 1AA. That was at the beginning of the 20th century. WMU's 1st bowl win ever was last year: the famous Bahamas Bowl.

Personally I kind of like it. Don't get me wrong I enjoy when Gameday visits all of the hallowed halls for the big games, but hey there are roughly 100 other schools out there that pray to be spotlighted just once when they're doing well, I'm glad WMU gets the chance.

Would be cool to see game day come to Chapel Hill again for football. We've got home games against Cal, Notre Dame and L'ville next year so maybe there's a chance

Wasn't surprised to see it in Kalamazoo. It was SEC cupcake week so they couldn't have it at one of those places, so I think at that point ESPN just throws all other schools into a hat at that point.

One of the reasons I started this thread is to draw attention to WMU HC PJ Fleck, who is the new Justin Fuente. Like the other F coach, he took over a perennial Loser and against all odds built a winner. Fleck won the 1st bowl in WMU history. He is the only WMU coach to go bowling in back to back years, and this will be 3 in a row.

If Fedora moves on (and with the openings now, that is not likely), then I hope ND-background Bubba has already contacted midwestern Fleck (he played at Northern Illinois). In addition to building the best team in school history in only 4 years, Fleck has the exact attitude UNC football needs. Below is from a Sports Illustrated article:

"Changing Western into a power started with a grassroots identity effort. After Fleck got hired in December 2012, he became irked at the amount of Western Michigan students wearing Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame gear around campus. (The campus is about 90 minutes from each school). He'd stop his car on campus anytime he saw a student wearing another school's colors and hand them Western gear from a box in his car. He took this ritual so seriously he even got in a smidge of trouble once for giving away the shirt off his back and briefly ending up bare chested on campus."

Pass on Fleck. He's a high risk-high reward hire. He could be the next Fedora but he could also be the next Doeren, Kragthorpe, Hazell, et al
