I have come to appreciate our free boards here unlike others sites you can’t post without being a subscriber. Just tried to post on lil carolina’s board and Missouri’s board and can’t. Missouri just got screwed

Random question why is the Texas vs Oklahoma game not called the red river rivalry any longer it’s now the red river showdown?

I love how lil Carolina can’t stand not being the real “Carolina”. I mean they are trying real hard they have it printed on everything (helmets and jerseys for example). The bast**** found a way to win. Make sure to send a thank you to the office of the refs. Screw them.

It was originally the Red River Shootout. PC sensibilities demanded a change, because obviously the Dallas Crips and Bloods would be much less inclined to use guns if the OU-UT game did not celebrate them.

So it became Red River Rivalry. But that was jeered and hated and ignored. They have come up with Red River Showdown to get back the sound of the original.

seems to be a huge emphasis these days to have all rivalry games played at the end of the season

I wish Texas / OU wasn't a neutral site game every year. It's just not the same. Imagine if UNC played Duke in Charlotte twice a year instead of home and home.

The game is always during the State Fair in Dallas, which is halfway between the two campuses.

If we were to play SoCar annually in football in Charlotte, it could be fun. Even without a state fair around the game.

I like that idea woad. I've always thought SoCar or Tenn would be good teams for us to play annually. P5, SEC, teams we recruit against, and quite frankly teams we should be able to be at least half the time. I would rather do home and home though but see the appeal of having it in Charlotte.

SoCar won't do it, though, because of playing Clemson annually. That would mean 10 set games per year.

I wonder if it would be possible, using Belk, to arrange a game annually in Charlotte against an SEC team. Perhaps a regular rotation of SoCar, Tenn, Georgia, and a team from the West would work.
