After Saturday I am more worried than ever about the GT game. I sat in the rain until the clock said 00:00 after watching an FCS team that came in with a 1-2 record , run thru our defensive line like a hot knife thru butter even though we knew a run was coming every play. I also watched the same FCS team's defensive line stack up our running game like "the steel curtain" on many pays. Elijah Hood gained almost every yard inside on just his own pure effort. I think if Fed hadn't gone to Trubisky the game could have had a different outcome. Delaware had no respect for MW's ability to throw the ball downfield. The whole ACC schedule now worries me.

The whole schedule should be of concern to UNC fans. We're not at the level where any D1 team can't beat us on a given night. I continue to be concerned about our DL's inability to stop the run pr put pressure on the QB. Our line play in general needs to improve.

I feel Mitch's ability to throw the deep ball will open up the running game more going forward, if he gets to play major minutes. But we've got to strengthen our run defense or we're in trouble. I think we will. As for getting more pressure on the QB, I'm not sure we have the personnel to do that at this point.

Yes, Delaware had 0 respect for MW as a passer. Any DC who plays against MW as anything other than a run 1st QB who can hurt his team by passing should be fired. Yes, if MW plays, all the remaining DCs will force him to pass while trying to bang him to Hell every time he runs.

Our DL seemed at its least effective vs. Delaware. I don't know why, But I hope at least part of that was due to the D looking ahead to GT.

Unfortunately, this is a must game for UNC or you can kiss this season goodbye. Already lost to one bad team. Can't lose to another.

Need a fast start so the TOP doesn't work against us. This game is very winnable if the play calling is better and the D shows up to play. Red zone trips will have to end in TDs and whoever is at QB has to protect the football

Simply not true. GT has already lost one ACC tilt & they aren't out of the league race. Important game? Absolutely. But not an elimination game.
This is a must game for reasons other than the division. It is a must game because if we lose a large part of the fan base's interest is also lost.

Typically, the Coastal winner has two ACC losses. If our fan base is soooo fragile that a single conf. loss can cause them to give up in light of that fact, then we need a new fanbase, b/c the ones we have aren't really fans. I, in fact, don't think the fanbase will go away if we lose; we've soldiered on thru much more, and much worse.

Heels lose this game every year basically, Johnson didn't have the Horses for ND , with an even playing field Cutliff can hang with him coaching wise... Fedora against Johnson, I will take PJ over the Fed 9/10 times... it needs to be a football game in which you keep it around 28-24 Not one of those PS4 shootouts these teams usually have, not a fan of that style..

The fans won't go away they just lose a lot of interest and it's not losing ONE game . It's losing to the same non top 15 team almost every year. A team probably less talented than we are that just out schemes us.

GaTech: 137-79 in the last 17 years, plus this year. They play UGa every year OOC.

UNC: 103-108 in that same time frame. To be fair, we've played a lot of brutal OOC teams in that time, particularly under doofus Bunting.

My point is that it is ludricous to suggest that most of the time we are more talented than GT. They've averaged 2 more Ws than UNC per year; nearly 1.3 more per year if you normalize for the 14 Ws over us, and our 3 over them. That kind of W differential over that long a span cannot be a product of simply the matter of scheme. Particularly 2 teams that play 6-8 common opponents yearly.

To be fair, we have found every way to lose vs. them, and they've been resourceful in finding ways to win, too. But more often than not, they've simply been a little better (the games are usually competitive), more so in the OL more consistently than anyplace else. But that area will produce quality differences in teams more dramatically, along w/ QB, than any other aspect of a football team.

Ga. Tech needs to help us much like they did last year by turning the ball over...The Yellowjackets are a wounded team mentally and physically after 2 tough road losses, so Carolina is going to get their best shot this week....Read where they are burning a Redshirt of one of their younger players...Just hope that he doesn't have his coming out party against the Tar Heels?

This game has huge Coastal implications IMO....A win by the Tar Heels, puts Ga. Tech squarely behind the 8-ball with 2 losses because they still have both Clemson and FSU to play, while Carolina and Dook don't....Big advantage, and one that needs to be taken advantage of this saturday...Not to mention, any road win is big in conference play if you want a chance to win the Coastal divison title, and right now Carolina has as good a shot as anybody else in the divison, and those chances will improve a whole lot more this saturday with a win over the Yellowjackets...

I don't sweat the Delaware game too much. I think that we knew coming in that this was one we could coast and still win and guys typically don't go all out in games like this with a key match up the next week.

Truthfully, I love that MW got pulled and MT was put in. It gives GT more to have to worry about. If/when MW starts, they have to plan for it. It/when MT comes in they have to switch gears. They are coming off 2 losses and now have to plan to deal with two guys with two very different styles of play and who have 2 different and distinct ways to beat you.

I haven't followed GT so I can't really scout them personally, but I have read that their secondary has been torched thus far and really gives up a lot of bad plays. Well, we have arguably the best receiving corps in the ACC and one of the best in the country and a backup QB who just came into a game and lit up the opposing team's secondary. We also have a slew of running backs with different talents that can cause headaches for a team ESPECIALLY if the passing game is opened up.

Now, with all this said, THE one unknown factor here is IF Fedora will be smart enough to utilize all of this to his advantage. Or is it Litrell? Who knows? What I DO know is we have the talent on offense to completely destroy GT if we want to. I believe Chizik has the chops to really put a stop to the GT triple option, too. We may not have the talent to fully stop it, but I believe the man has the knowledge to use what he has to stop it or at least slow it down.

I believe this game will come down to execution. Unfortunately history isn't on our side where this is concerned. We have the talent on offense and just enough on defense to win this game with at least a relatively comfortable margin - IF we can execute. Frankly, I am not sure we can.

I can't even predict this one. I hope for a win and my heart tells me we will win, but my mind tells me this one is too tough to pull out.

If the flow of the game is such that the personnel dictates the outcome, UNC wins.

If it comes down to situational coaching decisions in crucial down/distance situations, advantage Tech. Fed vs PJ isn't even a fair fight.

I don't think it will be a close game. I just don't see Georgia Tech losing their 3rd game in a row, at home, to us. GT has scored 200 points in 4 games!

Mikell Lands-Davis from Douglasville, GA. We recruited him (as an A-Back, I think) but he opted for Tech

We are always 4th-7th in the conference in recruiting and GT is usually towards the bottom. GT is by no means the only less talented team we have lost to in that time span. I know what you are going to say about the recruiting rankings but they aren't wrong every year. I stand by my statement that we have been the more talented team but this does not mean we were the better team.

My take on recruiting rankings is a bit unique. No, they aren't wrong every year. They are SUBJECTIVE every year, w/ abnormal weight given to skill players via "stars". That buttresses my point about GT having done a much better job in OL recruiting than UNC over this span of time. Recruiting rankings don't tend to expose that as much, when counterbalanced by skill players a team signs, particularly over time.

So, you can stick w/ your SUBJECTIVE opinion about the programs' relative talent; I will do the same. The difference is that my opinion is based on objective results, and yours on other subjective opinions. I'll let those different basis' for formation of opinion stand on their own merits.

System. His system is what makes GT look good. When you only probally have to practice and learn 20 plays. You become very good at it. That is why they look better than our talent. Not an easy offense to get ready for. As we all already know.

The real key to this game is how Marquise plays,if he comes out like he did vs the lamecocks then it will be a long day for our boys.I really think Trubisky should start.
