2-4, 3 double digit losses in the last 4 games, wow, I wish we had that one back! SMDH.

Now, Shamiek Blackshear, one of their prize recruits from 2015 is posting regrets on Twitter about picking SCar after having the redshirt put on him for the remainder of 2015. SCar fans not happy w/ his public discontent. Blackshear has been a troubled kid for a good long time....entitled, disrespectful, whiny little brat whose parents have enabled his "the rules don't apply to me" attitude. Have been around this situation for a good while. The kid broke into an area home and stole a safe, and then SCar paid off the plaintiff and she refused to testify against Blackshear. Allegedly....uh huh. I figured his self-destruction was just a matter of time.

Was so glad when we backed off this kid in his Jr. year from recruiting him further. Simply put, that kid is bad news....embodies everything that is so wrong about a portion of today's youth, and many adults, sadly. Like I've often said, Fed may not be ideal from a game coaching perspective, but the off-field stuff, his judgment has proven to be correct more often than not.

I've highlighted a key part. If the parents were doing their jobs, the kids would not be so bad.

Yep,it all starts at home, kids behave how you raise them,no other excuses.

Ahh Stevie boy (I mean old man Spurrier) said SoCar is not on the down swing.

Somehow UNC lost to them. Could only imagine UNC's season potential if they had not just given that game away. It would have been nice to have a hand in Spurrier's firing.

I doubt they fire him. He'll probably just walk away. Either way, I'm excited for SCar to go back to their usual crappy self.

It will be interesting to see who they can reel in as their next coach.

I like the OBC. But my disdain for SoCar is greater than my admiration for Spurrier. So watching them have a terrible season is enjoyable. Cannot believe we lost to them though.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy IMO. I've never found his schtick amusing.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit to see Spurrier leave fake Carolina. Really wish we hadn't given that game away. Fake USC acts like because they are in the SEC they could wipe the floor with anyone, never mind the fact that they are pretty much always among the worst teams in there. They are like State in that regard. As far as I'm concerned, that starts with Spurrier. In short,

Can't help but think that the Heels just had it in their heads they couldn't beat a "mighty" SEC squad in that game - and just crapped their pants.

If that game was played this weekend, with UNC being 4-0 and SCar being 1-3, I'm fairly confident the Heels would win by two scores.

Just saw on local news the Ol ball sack is retiring. Not sure when it's to be effective. Sorry no link.

there's some stuff going on here...can't post right now, but needless to say this was probably supposed to happen at the end of 2014.

anyway, my feeling on this, living in this city as it is today, it's a total sucker move to quit...as i posted on ootb, the people here needed to watch their team last saturday after the flood, they live and die football...it brings people together here more than a lot of places...now he quits mid-season, not really a smart thing right now.

also, tanner has a ton of pressure on him now...this is his first real hire and if he doesn't get it right, it could be his last...now is the time to circle the commits and see how they're feeling.

@gteeitup please correct me if I'm off-base as I don't mean to mis-characterize the school you went to / community you live in, but.......

I just don't see SCar as an enticing job for established / "hot name" coaches. I just don't. Yes you've got a good deal of talent in-state and you're a state away from Georgia and N.C. talent, but to me, it's the 8th best SEC job at best and might be worse than that. IMO, SCar fans expecting Chip Kelly, Kirby Smart, Charlie Strong, etc are going to be disappointed. Your thoughts?

I will say the one wildcard is Butch. I could see him going there. Everything about SCar and SCar Football is 'tailored' for him to go there. That would suck.

@TarHeelNation11 i don't completely disagree with that...i will say that the facilities are way better than they were ten years ago, hell, even five years ago...it's a completely different world than when holtz was here...the problem is that clemson is now really crushing it in-state and in florida...scarolina gets a lot of talent from georgia and north carolina so it's a big deal for the tar heels overall as a program.

i don't think kelly is even remotely possible, especially now that usc is open...dantonio is an alum, but he's got the 2nd best program in the b10 next to tosu...also hearing fuente at memphis, bisacia from dallas(st coach), and rich rod.

Rich Rod would be a mistake IMO. He always seems like he has a fairly low ceiling (cracking the Top 25 for a couple weeks). Plus his system isn't "new" and "innovative" like it was when he was at West By God. From what I've heard, D'antonio is a SCar alum like an international student is a UNC alum.....yeah they went to school there, but there's no draw to return, no sense of it being "home." He's always been in the Midwest. Plus is "D'antonio" really a name of a Southern football program head coach? Haha.

Fuente would be a home run. Yes there's always the risk he won't pan out as projected, but he's got the pedigree, the youth, etc. Thing is....he won't leave til after the season and by then, SCar might be priced out of him. Especially if he beats Mississippi this weekend or plays them close!

Wouldn't surprise me if the Cocks took a Coordinator from some SEC team, or maybe a Dana Hogerson(sp?) from West Bygod Virginny, especially since his team stomped a mudhole in Clemson in the Orange Bowl, just a few years ago?...That's reason enough for some Gamecock fans to want Hogerson?

Sure as h*ll did! SMDH. In Football Justice, Fed would've been jailed for the crime of EHood getting 138 yds on 12 carries, and NONE (or was it 1?) of them being after getting in the redzone.
Not a single damn carry in the red zone for Hood. The closest he got was a carry at the SC 24-yard line (which went for 9 yards, by the way).

UNC's play distribution in the red zone for that game went:
- 3 passes (2 of them INTs)
- 2 sacks
- 2 designed runs for Marquise
- 2 option plays that went to the RB (1 each for Morris and Logan)
- 1 handoff to Logan

I don't have a problem with the play calling, per se, but a) we were terrible in our execution and b) there was no excuse for not having Hood in the game.

I'm willing to give Spurrier in exchange for an ACCCG appearance. That would make our recruiting REALLY take off.

ETA: and guys, even if we had beaten SCar and then ran the table, we wouldn't make it to the playoff. The strength of schedule just isn't there. SCar is awful, Illinois is okay, we avoid one of Clemson/FSU (assuming we would face one in the championship game), Miami is down, GT is awful, VT is down. Our best wins would be Pitt and Duke, both of whom could very will finish outside the Top 25. UNC would be the odd team out and that would suck.

I would be OK with that. We aren't playoff worthy yet and I think we all know it.

I agree with gteeitup in part, something is going on, watch visor boys body language in the ESPN interview, he hardly moves, he moves his hands and upper body and pats his legs and the arm of the chair but he does not ever move his legs. My guess is if health related it could be a hip/knee thing going on as he isn't "running" the sideline....knowwhatImean?

We would have to beat the Atlantic Champ -- presumably FSU or Clemson -- to truly run the table. Also, I suspect there will only be a couple undefeated teams by season's end. If we were one of them, we might have had a shot at the playoff. That kind of talk just seems pointless right now though. We're not ready for that. Baby steps....
