GG last night...

Interesting that CSU barely beat Gardner-Webb by 2 and had to make a comeback (down 11 at half) to do it. Then CSU goes on the road and blasts SC by 32.

i wish him well. It is tough to navigate all the things he had coming at him so quickly!

Two thoughts.....
I don't think this is his only year in College.
Don't close the door to that 2nd year being in Chapel Hill.😶

Can I be the first to say….”take a hike”. He chose another school. Not only that, he chose us and then backed out of the commitment to go to another school. Why should Hubert feel compelled to rescue him from the situation he initially attempted to help him avoid. F*ck that. He made his bed, we plugged the hole and as far as I’m concerned, he and his overbearing mother can kick rocks.

Never say never I guess, but that scenario seems far fetched. I would think the heavy odds are that he is in next years NBA draft. Good luck to him in any case, unless his team is playing UNC.

Can’t help but wonder what this UNC team would be like with GG on it. Been wondering that more than I wanted to recently.

South Carolina is now 2-3. They are averaging 62ppg and giving up 73ppg. SC is shooting 34% and allowing 47%.
GG is averaging 16/8 but shooting 44% overall and 36% from 3 and 62% from the line. He has 2 assists to 15 turnovers.
These are not terrible stats considering the team he is playing for.
Mom is getting what she wanted, she gets to see all his home games and he makes bank in his Freshman year of College.
The 2023 draft is as loaded as any in recent memory according to the people that are supposed to know.
He is hardly considered a lottery lock, and Hubert and Bishop Jackson both thought he was " Maybe not yet ready" to play in College at a high level this year.
I think the 2023-24 season of GG in College could produce the type of season many expect for that timeframe. That is, IF he is playing on a roster conducive to winning, playing together, and allowing him to put up Stats and wins on a Nationally relevant program.
I have zero sources, just saying don't close that book yet.☺

GG Jackson said the following about the UNC Faithful when he flipped to South Carolina:

“I thought that their fan base was going to be a lot more professional, seeing how they have like five national championships or whatever the number is, but it definitely molded me into the stronger person that I am today. I have different techniques that I can use to block out the outside noise.”

He’ll go to dook before he comes to Chapel Hill. If GG starts to even remotely struggle, look for a freak injury and he gets shut down and waits for the NBA Draft.

I think this is a much more likely scenario than him ever coming back to UNC. That would not be good for him or anyone at UNC. The NBA drafts of potential so he will do enough to go in the first round and most likely the lottery. I think it's obvious that he and his family much preferred that he be the big man on a crummy team than have the experience of playing in a quality program.

I see very little chance of him ever playing for the Heels! I do see him having plenty of season left to show enough to get peeps to select him in the first round, possibly late lotto though!

Either way: UNC will win with you or without you!

Wish GG the best, even though he is playing on a shitty team that will be the cellar dwellers in the SEC.
