Not to make light of this accident or the loss of life, but the idea of a chartered train full of House and Senate REPUBLICANS colliding with a GARBAGE TRUCK is about the most apropos metaphor I have seen in a long, long time.

You are so typical. Thank you for verification.

Yes, they sliced through that trash on the other side just like they do in Congress.

Huh?

Look, if we're going to swap silly metaphors let's at least be truthful, and the truth is the Republican choo-choo was brought to a screeching halt and almost derailed.

Have they said why the truck was on the tracks? Were they trying to derail the train or was it just an accident?

I suspect it's an ongoing investigation and that question has yet to be answered, but more than likely this is the same result of most train and motor vehicle collisions: a negligent or distracted driver of the automobile. Of course the conspiracy theorists are already coming out of the woodwork.

Let me try:

Not to make light of the astronomical loss of life, but the idea of a continent full of money-hoarding Jews who can't BUY their way out of getting shipped to German death camps is about the most apropos metaphor I have seen in a long, long time.

Don't do that.

Nice try but your example is a bit too literal to actually serve as a metaphor.

Well if we’re being truthful, the train certainly got the better end of the deal. Have you seen the remains of the garbage truck?

Don’t be pissy because @Hark_The_Sound_2010 beat you at your stupid little game in a pretty thoughtless thread you created.

You, too, are guilty of being far too literal. Where did you attend college, NC State?

Wow, I'm not sure I've ever seen two different people both start such utterly stupid threads about the same news topic.

Wow, just Wow...

That wasn't what you said or what you meant and you know it.
What the fukk are you on about?

ETA: Unless you can't see that my "money-hoarding Jews" part was (so so obviously) for effect, to mimic noir's disgusting rhetoric....

I'm not anti-Semitic.

I give you the benefit of the doubt because you have never said something like this before that I know of

I would never make a real anti-Semitic comment, when at least one regular poaster on this board is of part Jewish ancestry. It was a 'shock comment' meant to mimic how disgusting I find @Heels Noir's OP in this thread.

Other maybe don't find it as disgusting as I do, but to each their own. Mocking loss of life typically never appeals to me.

Who’s the half Jew on the board? For the record, I love Jews. I have a bunch in my family, one of my best friends is one and the biggest donor of my organization is Jewish.

My opening comments were "disgusting" so you decided to mimic them? Really? That's not much of a defense, THN.

Maybe I should have had second thoughts before making lighthearted comments of a situation where someone died, but you're wrong to insinuate I am mocking a man's death.

No you were just hoping the rest had died. You are such a typical lib. You are a pathetic, sick individual.

I heard today that the gate had been malfunctioning the past few days and the speculation is focused on that!!! May end up being the railroads fault....whoever that is!!!! Fortunate that more people were not hurt and that numerous people on board were medically trained to deal with the injuries that did occur!

I'm not providing a "defense" for anything. I was/am simply highlighting the grossness of your comment.

How am I supposed to insinuate anything differently from your OP?

Of course you are, but if I thought other posters were implying I was anti-Semitic I would defend myself, too.

Maybe by pulling your head out of your ass and realizing I was making a general disparagement against Republicans in Congress and not a poor man who lost his life. Dude, seriously.

Ehh, @prlyles's reaction gave me the impression he didn't read/interpret my poast correctly, so I was clarifying for the sake of clarity. Trust me, I don't gaf if anyone on this board thinks certain thing(s) about me.

Honest question. What’s the difference in that but me (or anybody else really) saying “I’m not a racist, but..”
While I have certainly taken a well-deserved jab or two at Republican congressmen in this thread, in no way have I mocked death. But or no but.

I find it somewhat ironic how a few of the political conservatives on this message board are suddenly so eager to pull the dreaded political correctness card out of their hip pocket, as if we're not allowed to dance around tragedy and death lest we appear to be some kind of disgusting and insensitive liberal. What a bunch of hooey, and what a bunch of two-faced pushovers you guys are turning out to be.

I'm not making light of those injured or killed, strangers as they are to all of us. It's just that of all the things which that trainload of lawmakers could have intercepted -- a whitetail deer, another train, a logging truck, UFOs from distant galaxies -- it instead ran into a truck carrying man-made waste. And based upon the stench permeating from the halls of the Capitol Building these days, this incident does hereby bring forth a rather startling allegory. Disagree all you want.

I find it ironic that someone can expect political correctness for the topics they care about, but throw it to the wayside when they want to get their shots in.

I don't give a shit about political correctness. You're confusing me with someone else.

Lol

And I just asked you what the difference was. Nothing more. Nothing less. I still didn’t get my answer but I hear ya. It’s all good. Focker out!

I have never read on here where one of the more conservative members wished, made light of, physical harm or death of liberals. If I am wrong please point it out. Sure we have made fun of liberals but never wished or intimated physical harm. Hell Shumer, Pelosi, Waters, Lee, Schiff, Reid are all easy targets.

It’s hard to have a conversation with you because you easily stray off the tracks.

I was echoing Hark’s sentiments and stating that more people than not are hypocrits. They tend to stand on principles until something affects them personally.

Also, several of you are reading way into the initial joke and finding it disgusting, lol. That’s the definition of needing a safe space.

I don't need a safe space and I don't believe in being politically correct but if someone feels the need to make fun of a situation when someone gets killed and many more could have they are in my opinion sick and pathetic.

Well, comedians, and people in general, do this all the time. It’s troubling you can’t sort out the difference between laughing at a funny situation vs laughing at someone dying. I’d be willing to bet you’ve made or laughed at a joke in poor taste at least once in your life.

I have never found anything funny about someone dying or being in a serious accident. How is a train crash in anyway funny?
