Great Read for all Tar Heels

Thanks, 75. IMO, Hubert is an excellent coach for our university.
He embraces his roots and honors his mentor, Coach Dean Smith.
As such, he is turning men into better men by his example, as well as honoring
his family, the Chapel Hill community, his faith, and UNC-CH.
Our team and its success is just icing on the cake. GDTBATH

Nice find! This may not be the year, but Hubert will bring a NCAA title or two to Chapel Hilll before he retires. The guy loves Dean Smith, and this may be a gross understatement. That last paragraph sums it up.

Good read, agree Hubert will be fine. I can see his teams always getting off to slow starts. I see Hubert as someone who enjoys the growth of the season (meaning his players). Year two we will start to see more patterns from Coach as the years go on, but I do believe Hubert will always get us off to slow starts and grow us into what works.

Slow starts happen. Happened to DES & Roy as well on occasion, and they seemed to put the train back on the track. In Roy's last 2 years the train came off the tracks and he could never get it solidly back on the tracks, was a major reason he went the retirement route I believe.

It's not necessarily the coach's fault that 4 returning starters seemed to have forgotten everything they learned the previous year.

Certainly unexpected, though.

Next year could be a lot different, since it's more likely that 4 starters won't be returning.

I look forward to seeing how Hubert handles that challenge. But for now, I'm happy to see if we can surge to greatness this season.

If slow starts might be something we should expect, that's a good argument for playing in as many of those overseas summer games as permitted to get a head start on training and coaching.
