Very lazy work by the ESPN writer, all I read could have been written by Dan Kane or ANY NC State fan.
What a g-damned idiot. ESPN is bad, but sheesh! I lost IQ points just looking at that. Did someone seriously write that crap?
That was a classic example of someone who is wedded to a meme, something they obviously want to believe, albeit without any factual basis whatsoever, and takes that false premise and just keeps running with it --- in other words, the modern media in a nutshell. The dumbest thing about that article is the insinuation that anything at all could happen to the UNC team this season. That is just incorrect. I don't really care about the rest of it. As long as the NCAA does their own thing while actually looking at the facts of what took place none of this stuff really matters. It sucks but doesn't really have much of an impact.

Yep. And sports "journalism" is even worse because, well, it's sports. Sports-talk radio mouth-frothers get paid to have "strong opinions" (that's exactly the term they use in the industry), and writers competing for a shrinking audience and website clicks more and more often resort to the same shortcut. So now the standard is 'hey, just go ahead and pick your fave internet rumor or trash-meme against a team you don't like and run with it'. It's not like an "editor" is gonna filter it or anything.Exactly right gary, the media in ALL aspects is completely out of control, They have become nothing more than spin machines intent driving a pre-determined out come and the truth be damed. There was a day when the media actually reported the news rather than craft the news, sadly that day has long passed.
