@gunslingerdick and whoever else who wants to chime in, can y'all give me a quick-and-dirty breakdown of the recruiting class we coming in for basketball? I see Seventh Woods (sweet name) committed but I ain't got a clue who he is, just know the name. I can't get into basketball recruiting so......yeah.

Anyone wants to break it down and give me your honest thoughts on the class? How would you grade the class on an A-F scale? Who's the stud in the class? Are you satisfied with the class? Etc. Any information would be appreciated :)

Oh, and I didn't post this on Radar because, well, just because.

Tony Bradley - 6'10" - classic post player with good fundamentals and nice touch. Average run/jump athlete. I liken his game to Brad Daugherty. 4 year player.

Brandon Robinson - 6'5" - wing player with good mechanics and stroke. Long and rangy, good handle and has potential to be a very good defender. Above average athlete. 4 year player.

Seventh Woods - 6'1" - combo guard with good handle but more of a 2 in that he hunts his shot rather than setting others up. Streaky shooter, amazing finisher. Elite athlete. 3 or 4 year player.

Best I can do from my phone. Might add more later. I'm sure someone else can fill in the gaps.

I'm not the writer that GSD is, but, here's my take on our 3 recruits for the 2016 class . .

Seventh Woods
is a 6'1" 185 lb.4 star Combo guard, rated the #34th player and 6th best SG in the country on Scout. His superb athleticism is what is the basis for his game. He's fast, quick and can jump better than most guards can. Streaky outside shooter, has good handles and is a terrific on-ball defender.

Tony Bradley was the first to commit in this class. He's a 6'10", 230 lb. center with a very high motor, good hands, a true post player that runs the floor very well. Possesses a soft shooting touch from anywhere in the lane. Rated the 5th best C in the nation by Scout, this 5 star player can score with either hand on the low block.

Brandon Robinson, 6'5" 170 lb. SG, 4star player that is ranked the #55th player (Scout) and 9th best WG, long and athletic that can score from anywhere on the court and will absolutely thrive in Roy Williams' system.

These 3 have given Roy the currently rated 4th best class. I look for Roy to add at least one, and maybe, a couple more players to this group.

If, I had to give this class a grade, at the moment, I'd have to say B+ . .

Billy, isn't Woods the 34th ranked player by Scout and 6th SG or am I looking at it wrong?

Ooops, my bad . . you are correct. I think I got ahead of myself when typing that up. I've now edited it.

34th overall player and 6th best SG.

Thanks, Grill . . !

No problem. Sometimes I look at those player rankings and get confused too. Blame it on being an old codger. Funny how those Rival, Scout, ESPN rankings can be so different.

@TarHeelNation11 look at the woods film from two years, he was ridiculous...some has to with the competition, but you can see the instincts and explosiveness even as a sophomore...tell me who comes to mind when you watch him.

i really hope i'm wrong about him and his desire to be great...personally watching him the last two years, it's a concern of mine.

I have no clue man. I don't know basketball well enough to speculate who people's game resembles. His dunks remind me of Vinsanity though. His handles remind me of AI.

I think Seventh and Robinson compliment each other pretty well. Honestly, with all that is going on right now it is a pretty incredible job by Roy.

He certainly has, Cory . . !

Coach put in 4 dedicated years in recruiting Seventh, with all the disappointments the man has endured because of no fault of his own, I am glad he had success with Seventh.

His defense will earn him court minutes right from jumpstreet IMO . . I can tell ya this, Britt and Berry both will benefit from going against Seventh in practice.

Yep, he has the handle and what impressed me most is how QUICKLY he gets off the floor. Has the tools to be a special defender. And are you SURE he's 6'1"?!? He plays about 3-4 inches taller than that.
