So I have to start this thread too.

I have said for some time that Brewer easily is the best all around position coach we have. Last year was a good way for anyone to see that, assuming he was paying attention. Our WR corps was so decimated that 4th string Josh Cabrera got major playing time. And Cabrera the 4th team player ran precise routes and made catches.

Brewer made certain that our 4th team players under him were ready to play.

As Brewer also was a major help in recruiting, this is a HUGE loss to the program.

My wish would be that we could hire Ricky Proehl. To do that we probably have to take Blake Proehl as a transfer, which could be a win-win.

Fedora is not on the most firm ground. Everybody will see the loss of Brewer as a big deal that may suggest people jumping off a sinking ship.

You are literally the only person that sees that. He got an NFL job offer. He would have been a dolt not to take it.

It does not matter what job he got. He left, as the program is struggling, and he was our best position coach.

If Brewer is replaced with someone obviously lesser - as Charlton Warren has been - then it will be even easier for opposing coaches to sell to recruits that Fedora can't keep not level assistants and can't replace those who leave.

Everybody will see that Fed puts people on position to succeed to further their dreams, like coaching in the NFL for the f'ing superbowl champs!

Really hate this. Gonna hurt recruiting. This may very well be a killer as far as hoping to land crouch.
