Yes, it was 9 years ago today that Tyler, my favorite Heel and one of the greatest Heels ever passed Phil Ford another all-time great. Tyler's impact at UNC and on all of us will forever be remembered. All the honors and awards he won were beyond well deserved due to the hard work and time he constantly put it and ultimately finishing it off with a National Championship was the greatest thing he could achieve because it meant so much to him to do it. When I think of one of the reasons that I truly love being a Tar Heel, memories of Tyler playing and what he brought to Carolina always comes to mind. He played with so much heart, energy and passion while showing truly great character and love for his teammates, the University of North Carolina and Coach Williams.

What he achieved is beyond describable because his impact on the court was so remarkable, and it carried off the court to all of us as fans who got to experience how special he really was.

The #50 will never be worn again and is retired for one reason and one reason alone, There is only one Tyler Hansbrough, there is only one Psycho T and he is one of the greatest Heels to ever live!!!!

Also my favorite Heel of all time. There will never be another like him IMO as he's a once in a generation type player.

I am constantly torn between Tyler and BGJ as the best ever for the Heels! I dearly love em both and would die if l had to choose!!!

Best Player on the Best team! Not just All Time Tar Heel Leading Scorer, also All Time Tops in the ACC!! For all that he did imo he gets way too little mention during broadcasts of UNC games. He is one of the best College players in ACC history, and in the NCAA as well.

I was in the building that night. Grateful to see it happen in person. Probably the greatest Heel I've had the pleasure of viewing in person.

On a side note I really enjoyed his podcast with Gerald Henderson last week. Sean May was the guest.

I was at that UNC game as well, happened my freshman year. Pretty awesome to see, definitely one of the best to lace them up for us.

Has the cheap shot been mentioned yet?
They pretty much use it as a premise to begin the podcast. Both players give their side. At the start of the 2nd episode Gerald gives Hans a formal apology. Said he was told to apologize right after the incident and wasn't really sincere.

I was in the stands that night and witnessed him passing Phil on the all time scoring list! I was about the free throw line on that side of the court, in typical fashion he forced it up through 2 defenders.
