Heels’ Process In Full Swing

Interesting to reread this upbeat take from mid-December. This was written 2 wins after the 4-game losing streak. Things were looking up. Players were saying the right things. We weren't there yet but we were getting there.

With more games and more practices under their belts, I feel sure today's team would beat December's team. But in every other respect, we seem to have basically treaded water, and still need to work on the same things.

Is that a fair assessment?

They were trending the right way, but I think a couple of losses derailed it and they haven't gotten back on track. The mental stuff is an issue, and maybe a bit more micromanaging has stymied growth as well.

mental, psychological, emotional….when you focus on emotions, you get emotional (and emotional swings). It’s a bad sign when a team has to air out their ‘feelings’ for 37 min postgame. Maybe bc their periods have synchronized.
Like Tom Hanks said in ‘a league of their own’, “there’s no crying in baseball.”
