Heels Open a 2 Point Underdog . .

Whoa. I guess that's set on betting people smarter than me, to get money on both sides of the line. I assume they take into account that the Heels have looked sorta "mediocre" in the last four wins, and are on the road, and that Louisville will be coming off a tough home loss, and will be fired up to play....

but just because a team loses at home, a bounce back "we're REALLY going to be PO'd and will settle the score next game" - doesn't always happen, right?

Examples this year: MSU losing 3 in a row including a couple at home, and being taken to the wire by some very weak teams.
Dook losing 3 in a row (against unranked teams), and 4 of 5, including two in a row at home.....

I suppose these teams were really mad about the losses, and were going to "right the ship / get revenge" in the next game. Sometimes you are just in a slump, and the last game has nothing to do with playing better in the next game. That sort of having a loss motivate you to play harder, more focused, in the next game, I have come to take as mostly empty talk, or a mark of immature teams or ones that need to use it as a gimmick motivator for the next game..... and that includes when it is said or used by my favorite teams like the Heels.....

sure you can say you're PO'd and ready to play harder, better, etc in the next game after an embarrassing loss. but that doesn't really do anything to explain why you played so poorly in the previous game

Wins on the road in the ACC are tough, regardless of who the opponent is. If I were a betting man though, I would lay my money on the Heels at +2

A lot of bets will go on Carolina for tomorrow night but you just watch the hose job the refs lay on us tomorrow night. Louisville will try and drive all night and if our guards or bigs breathe on them they'll be at the line. It went down that way last year and I'm betting it goes down that way tomorrow night.

Gawd I hope my bookie opens up with the same line tomorrow morning. I think the Heels win by 8 to 10 points.

We've been playing mediocre because (IMO) we've been playing mediocre ACC teams. We've seen this time and again by Roy's top notch UNC teams - they play down to the competition and up to the competition, in league play. Louisville will have our full attention and we'll see once again why we're one of three or four teams with a legitimate national title shot.

I think Louisville -2 seems about right. They do some things well that will give us problems and it is at their place.

Interesting. Granted, if I was a neutral bettor (I never bet on or against the Heels - jinx) on this game, I don't think I would touch it. Louisville coming off a home loss and dismal performance playing an incoming #1/#2 undefeated-in-conference team --- woo-ee, trouble brewing.
We are an objectively better team, but.... we better be ready to prove it.

Yeah, Its tough when you only have 6 guys!

UNC just isn't getting the respect we deserve to me. I see no objective reason to make them favorites, but anything can happen in the ACC.

MP hitting a few is an extremely good sign for us and I expect we will get this done!
