That thread demonstrates the dichotomy that exists within the Pitt fan base. Half of them are smart, reasonable fans... that you can normally have a good discussion with. The other half are like diet wolpfackers, always seeing a conspiracy, always convinced they were "cheated", always looking for a greener pasture to run to. You see the same thing play out on their scout boards, though at times the loonies run the sane ones off.
I don't really know how they put up with each other without going for the knives.
I think that's a pretty good assessment. The smart Pitt fans are very good folk. And I'll leave it at that.
Last time I had any personal interactions with Pitt fans was at the West Virginia/Pitt game the last year they played the Backyard Brawl. I was ready to shove my fist down their throats by kickoff. By the end of the game they were bashing their own team. Pretty good assessment of the lesser half of the dichotomy of Pitt's fanbase.
I will tell you this, do NOT go to their board to discuss our game with them. They are convinced that they beat us this year, and that they should have ( or were cheated out of ) beaten us the past two years. Zero respect from their fans.

Do you REALLY want PSU more than Pitt?? You're insane. PSU is a cult, seriously. Heck the Big 10 doesn't want PSU. Be careful what you wish for.
Beyond just TV sets, they have a 100,000+ seat stadium that they fill every week and they'd help other ACC schools sell out their games, which the league needs.
Pitt just doesn't have a big enough fanbase. No one from Pittsburgh lives there anymore.
Bro, they've moved everywhere. Your neighborhood, my neighborhood, SC, TX, California. They are like roaches dude. They just keep coming. It's the same exact reason there's tOSU fans everywhere. They all come from the WPA / eastern Ohio area and are Steelers / Buckeyes fans

That is bad how? No one even came close to comment on, or condemning, a Pitt fan because they rooted for Pitt to win.
if you read that thread on the Pitt board most of the posters give logical reasons why they prefer the ACC to the B1G...
