Maybe it's too late in the season to even consider making a switch like that but it might be something to consider..Is there any question that right now Berry is the team's best outside shooter and is there any question that Paige prefers to play the point instead of the shooting guard. Paige is a team player and he is playing the 2 because of that but why not alternate the spots. This is just a thought but right now with Paige's shot a little off and Berry seemingly comfortable taking a three at any time I have to wonder if the coaching staff have thought about a possible position change...your thoughts?

Gracious! Paige is in a slump, it happens only way out is to shoot-shoot-shoot! Donald Williams went thru the exact same thing before having a blistering final 4. No radical changes needed.

This.

Reeeeeelllllaaaaxxxxxx guys. Paige is too good of a player to not snap out of this. Better now than March.

I remember Williams and remember Ellington going thru one. But not to this extent as the one Paige has gone thru. It's very concerning.

I hope Marcus goes all Donald for the next two months! Donald Williams had one of the finest March shooting periods I ever saw...his may have started in February...

That same thought has crossed my mind the past couple of days following the loss to L'ville. I was thinking maybe that could light the spark, not making the change to get Berry shots. It's all in his head now, but he needs to get back to driving and make defenders respect that and not just close out and get under his grill.

It seems in some of our sets we do allow either to take the reins, I love to see Berry take drive the ball, he, Nate and Marcus are all doing that at times...I'm drinking the "no more slump" Kool-Aid.

This you're misremembering Wayne Ellington's slump. His lasted almost half a season before Clemson came calling and he nailed 7 3's against them.

Yup. I remember thinking the same thing then as I do now, this kid is way too good of a shooter to not snap out of it. When he does, WATCH OUT.

Berry has to run the point and Marcus the 2. No change to be made. Just need to get more 3 shots to drain for paige jackson and berry.

Wayne Ellington was a 42% 3PT shooter that season. Paige has yet to shoot that high a percentage and Ellington's didn't run thru conference play. I wish I could find the game box scores from that season.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - For the first time all year, Wayne Ellingtoncouldn't miss. It made fifth-ranked North Carolina's offense finally look as potent as everyone expected.

Granted, that game was the 4th ACC game of the season, but the Heels were 17 games into the season. Slumped for 17 games.

If you run thru the games it wasn't that bad of shooting compared to Paige. Not even close as bad as the last 5 or 6 games for Paige.

C'mon now.... the position situation has been a benefit to Paige. He's moving well, not getting beat up and getting ample open looks. Just gotta hit em.
Gotta tell ya, last week a caller asked Roy that question on the radio show, and let's just say he was pretty incredulous at the concept (as politely as he could muster).
Marcus has a lot of freedom in our current situation, and from what I understand he likes playing the 2. He can rotate up top pretty much any time in the Passing Game and has Roy's green light to create off the dribble. I can tell you with assurance it is a non-issue --- he's just in a slump, nothing more, nothing less.

Wayne Ellington was our third best 3pt shooter that year percentage wise

Man, I would kill for those percentages this year.

Ellington went through a pretty bad one, not to Marcus extent, but it was bad. 5-20, 8-29. Then dropped 7 in one half against Miami, and we all know the rest. Marcus will snap out of it, and when he does, look out!

Been saying that since before the season started. I think it is the adjustment we need to make and the most important one we can make if we want to go all the way.

The sooner we do it, the better. Thing is Roy will need to adjust the offense a little to basically run with 2 point guards. He did it at Kansas and it can work. Paige would be the primary point but Berry would at times take over and they switch within the flow of the offense so Berry acts like the pg and of course, drives the lane or shoots as well as feeding the post.

In this scenario, Paige is a score (shoot or drive) first pg which forces the other team to overplay that.
