Ah, it would be Virginia and Clemson/NC State, not Miami to get to the final. I don't know if those two would be a big enough bump even if they win them.Only lock would be the automatic bid.
If they get matched up with Virginia and then Miami and get those two on the nuetral to get to the final they have a shot too. Would have to be against the highest quad values possible to get there and then only if other bubble teams falter as well.
I think you meant:Don't lose heart.
We could still end up winning 30 games this season.
That's 4 in the ACCT plus 7 in the NCAAT (including a play-in game).
Which, let's face it, would be awesome!
How many rounds does the NIT have?I think you meant:
Which, let's face it, will never happen.
Be strong -- no bourbon before noon !Don't lose heart.

The last time we were there it was 5. I don't know if that's still true. How many rounds does the NIT have?
Bourbon? I think maybe something stronger.Be strong -- no bourbon before noon !
I always look and play futures, but UNC is only tied with Clemson for the 4th choice at 6 to 1, thought it would be more, the others 3 ahead are 2.5 - 4 to 1. Vegas is giving them a decent shot at it.I hesitate in saying this, but we should actually have confidence we can win this tourney.
We have only lost by 33 points our last 6 loses. That is just a little over 5 points difference in or loses, we are not exactly getting blown out. Our largest defeat during that time has only been 8 points.
If I had a little extra pocket change, I would put money on UNC to win this tournament.
We have to win this tournament, anything else would be showing favorites to a blue blood, I would take that by the way.
BC has improved.Boston College could easily beat this UNC team right now.
No doubt they can, they have knocked off some tourney teams down the stretch. We also have beat Virginia, and either State or Clemson, which is the path if BC doesn't pull the upset. It's a doable route. Not the Covid year Brooks team that would of been a shock, and got hammered anyway before the shut down.Boston College could easily beat this UNC team right now.
A couple of weeks ago I was hoping to avoid Virginia early, but that now looks like the preferable side of the bracket. No doubt they can, they have knocked off some tourney teams down the stretch. I am surprised that UNC is the 4th pick by Vegas, not far behind in odds to the top 3 by Vegas to win the ACC tournament. It is as good a half of the bracket as they could of hoped for.
We developed depth last year?By this time of the year, the Tar Heels should have developed depth and should have a consistent rotation to work with. Hubert Davis has failed mightily in this area and that’s the recipe for doom in the ACC Tournament.
The quality of a lot of the UNC recruits over the last 5 years doesn't seem to be anywhere near as good as the 5 years prior. Dunn, Styles, Trimble, Nickel... they don't look like they'd ever get anything more than mop-up minutes. That's why I think that Hubert would take back all of the three starters he has available next year without hesitation. The bench is just not that impressive. We developed depth last year?
Last regular season at Duke, no one on the bench played more than 5 minutes. Then we went to a 7 man rotation in the tournament where maybe Styles would play 3 minutes in normal circumstances.
I don't think the bench played any less or anymore last year.
And it remains to be seen, but I don't know how much developing a player like Styles can undergo. He's just an unskilled player. And it's really hard to develop dudes who can't dribble and chew gum at the same time.
And we are getting worseBC has improved.
I’m not going to argue with your logic but I will argue dollar signs. If UNC makes it to the title game…they’re in the Big Dance. UNC = Ratings which = Money. Not to mention the run they made last year is going to factor in heavily.I voted that we need to win the ACCT and folks, hate to be a bucket of cold water but that is the ONLY way we get in to this NCAAT, it will not happen if we lose in the title game. To get to the title game, the most likly match ups would be we having to beat BC, UVa, either Clemson or NC St, just to get to the title game. Yes, we beat all those teams regular season but beating any of them now do not raise us up in the net to get us in, think I saw, maybe Sisk said it on a pod cast but we have to come up 10 spots and simply no combination of our beating those teams raises us up. So we have to win the whole thing to get to the NCAAT.
