Regardless of how you feel about Pitino's character, the man is a really good coach.

There are instances of assistants who came in and did a good job. Dino Gaudio did a good job for a few years after Prosser died. Bruce Weber for a number of years after Self left Illinois. But I'm guessing that isn't usually the case.

Louisville has a really good core team. I was penciling them in as 2nd in the ACC and probably a #2 seed in the NCAAT.

But now...?

They could still be really good. Maybe the assistant is great. Maybe Pitino already had them at the right level, no matter who coaches them. Maybe they'll play even better with a big chip on their shoulders.

I don't know what their starting lineup will be but I recognize these returning proven players - which might make a good starting squad in their own right.

Quentin Snider
VJ King
Deng Adel
Ray Spalding
Anas Mahmoud

To which they add the 7th ranked 2017 recruiting class that includes several big guys.

What do you guys think?

does pencil have erasure?..NCAAT, dont think so..ACCT may give them a bone

I am think a lot of kids will be asking for their transfer papers

Yeah, had this occurred early summer it is hard to say if they would even have a team right now. Really, expecting something very close to the death penalty, at very least they will get the hammer so hard it will take years for them to recover with the post season bans and the scholly reductions.

My guess is post season ban for 5yrs and scholly reduction of maybe 3 per year for 3-5yrs.

There's no way it will be 5 years. NCAA will never* dole out that kind of punishment. 3 is as long as I can see them EVER going.
