Huffman dominant against Oak Hill tonight

Good thing because Bradley may be OAD.. Kid should be in the starting line-up.

Tar Heels are gonna feel better and better about Mr Huffman, he is that physical inside bruiser that we need folks! Ball comes in to those vice grips he calls hands and he does what I want my big man to do, flush it strong. Not finesse there, just physical force!

Huffman a future 4 star along with Manley!

Huffman is freaking big.

I wonder how he did defensively. What did the guy he covered have?

That said, seems like dec motor, good frame for rebounding, and obviously aggressive finisher.

What still concerns me is I have yet to see him do anything when he hasn't gotten behind the defender or had a putback. Does he have an ability to score without an open dunk? That is the main concern.

Baby Shaq....

I don't think Shaq could do anything but dunk and push people around for 15 years. If Huffman can max out to 20-25% of what Shaq did in college we will be very happy. Just wish he was around this year to put a few bruises on the top of Grayson Allen's head.

So we're comparing Huff to Shaq now? Ok...

BTW, Shaq was much more than a dunker. He was quick as hell and he had great post moves with a baby hook.

That said, great to see Huff dominate against the top talent in the class.

Love what I see from this guy. He has all the tools to be a very good player in the ACC. Oak Hill represents the very highest level of high school competition, so for him to shine in this game should bode very well for UNC's future and should allay some of the recruiting angst going around these days.

Absolutely NO Chance of that! Some folks live to wallow in the negative.

This is what I have been trying to get folks to see, folks have to get over rankings right now for BOTH Huffman and Manley, these 2 kids are at least as talented as any of the 4 stars I see folks lamenting we did not offer. I know, sounds odd to suggest we have found 2 diamonds in the ruff in the same class, I get how that can sound homerist, I just honestly do feel we got 2 kids that flew way under the radar. I honestly feel both those guys will be seen as solid 4 stars by the time all is told.

I saw great hands, shot blocking ability, the ability to run the floor, and a desire to dunk anything close to the basket. And he has a great frame for getting stronger, tho' he looks quite strong now. What's not to like? Teach him a drop step move and a baby hook and now we're cookin' with gas.

This guy is going to be ranked in the top 50 by the end of the season.

Yall know the story on Huffman don't ya? he played in Alaska, don't know if he could see Russia from his front porch but if you play in Alaska and are not a Carlos Boozer level guy you are not going to get a lot of hype. There are not a ton of summer leagues out of Alaska so he couldn't ride that train to getting known. Don't think it is shocking to suggest he IMO was not well coached, there just is not a lot of taught skill there. But the family moves to Raleigh and he enrolls at WOG and say what we will about the coach there no denying the man knows talent when he watches it, even if that talent is extremely raw.

This time WOG had a kid that was big time talent but very little interest because no one knew what he could do and being as raw as he was college coaches were not exactly beating down the door to get to him. But local word picked up and spread to a coach in Raleigh and a coach in Chapel Hill and the guy in Chapel Hill went to see the kid and offered because that Chapel Hill coach develops skill when the talent is there as a base.

Now Oak Hill realizes that Huffman kid is way under ranked. Don't know if this is true or not but I heard that Oak Hill scrimmaged with the team that Ky played last weekend and beat them by near 40pts, not like Oak Hil is your typical high school program that allows a kid like this to stat stuff. To do what he did vs Oak Hill is the definition of impressive and not something you wil see from your typical 3 or 4 star player.

If you click on the #PhenomShowcase link in the dookies' post and scroll down, you'll see some coaches comments re: Brandon that should make us all smile.

Oak Hill will usually have 4-5 D1 players on their team in any given year. So that 19/11 couldn't have come against better competition. There were some big boys out there.

I'll take a 20-25% of Shaq at maximum. Not saying he would be anything more.

Huffman was in the house this afternoon. Heard an analyst refer to him as a 4 Star recruit. Has he picked up another star somewhere, or were they just assuming it was coming?

Watch the last 2 seconds or this clip and his elevation on the dunk starting a few feet out..... That should tell you something. A solid starter at the 5 once Bradley leaves after 2-3 years.
