I've seen reports that say he's being considered at South Carolina, too. The guy is 64 years old. I sincerely doubt he's interested in any projects at this point, and just about every team in need of a new coach is a project to some degree.
True, but the general consensus seems to be that's where he starting slipping towards the end of his tenure at UT. I know those guys get paid millions of dollars but it's a hell of a lifestyle. I'd be really, really surprised if he jumped back into the fray. Calling one game a week on ESPN seems like a much better gig for a guy heading into his retirement years.
Speaking of which, can I just tell you guys how much I enjoy Mack as a color commentary guy? He did the Auburn-Kentucky game last night, and I really enjoyed his insights on the Xs and Os of the game. Seems rare these days to find an analyst who actually provides...analysis. I can think of one in particular who's far more interested in how his new "beard" looks on TV than actually providing anything viewers might find interesting or useful.
Agree that Mack is a natural in the booth, doing color. Really adds to the broadcast.

He's horrible. Just horrible. But I'm also biased. A very lovely girl I dated ~10 years ago made (?) me watch an entire season of The Bachelor where Mr. Palmer was the bachelor. It lowered my opinion of him to unfathomable depths from which I doubt he'll ever recover. Even if I'm being fair, he's a mediocre analyst at best.

Palmer sux. Period. SEC homer to the Nth degree. And Mack Brown could do a helluva lot more than recruit. Helluva CEO, and a better coach than given credit for....by a long shot.
I think Plamer is always trying to prove that even a Canadian can be a true blue SEC man. So he goes overboard on the SEC love.

i don't believe scarolina has any interest in mack brown...and he's great in the booth.
I hope she was really lovely if you had to sit through "The Bachelor".
The fact that you watched a season of The Bachelor has lowered my opinion of you to unfathomable depths. Unless a picture you have of this "lovely" girl could make me change my mind.
