How is my OOTB vets? Anyone suffering from PTSD? How has your ordeal been with the VA as I'm going through it right now.

I dont think we have any active OOTB members who are vets, although @heelbent is a mod who is a retired Marine. @WITarheel is also a vet who used to poast much more frequently and stops by once every few months or so.

@BillyL is the de facto OOTB membership director- he can probably shed more light.

Thank you for your service and I hate that you have to deal with PTSD. I know we all wish there was something we could do to help.

I'm a vet.

I'm a vet with >50% VA disability rating, although I have not been diagnosed with PTSD. I think the key to getting help from the VA is to go to an organization such as DAV, get help with filling out the paperwork and filling it out completely. Follow the directions and advise given by organizations like DAV. And, most importantly, go to all the medical appointments that the VA sets up for you. Failure to complete the paperwork and failure to attend the scheduled appointments makes the process difficult for the Vet and extends the process unnecessarily... Good luck.

I want to truly thank you guys for your service and sacrifice so that my wife kids and myself can walk freely in our country and feel safe!

I take what you guys do for granted, and I never even think about that I can and am doing what I dowe only because of what you do!

Thank you

Thanks Nuk! The VA is a crazy place with a bunch of red tape so any advice I can get from those who have been before me is greatly appreciated. Thank you brother!
