Look, I'm not one who hates on the SEC or hates on certain schools, just for the heck of it. I think it's naive and holier-than-thou to blindly say things like "SEC, you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin!!!" or "Free Shoes University" or anything like that.
That being said, we all know that there are things going on at certain schools that, if they came to light, would make UNC's "issues" look tame as tame can be. Here's one example that really pisses me off: there's a current stud for the Florida Gators' football team named Antonio Callaway (who has been cleared by the coach to rejoin the team. Why was he suspended? Because he was was accused of sexually assaulting a female UF student.
Well, Coach McElwain reinstated him recently, like I said. Callaway does have one last hurdle to clear though: he has a hearing with the UF student judicial affairs to determine whether he violated student conduct policy. A "guilty" verdict could jeopardize his standing as a student (and thus as a football player). What does the University of Florida do? They appoint a Gators football and basketball season ticket-holder and booster as the 'judge' at this hearing.
Where's the media outrage? Oh that's right, some UNC athletes taking a few easy classes is way worse than a university ignoring the severity of an alleged rape because the accused is an elite football player. How silly of me!
