awesome! i love college football, can't wait for next season when our great coach will start turning things around in chapel hill. i grew up a carolina basketball fan first and a football fan second, the main reason being the team concept instilled by the great dean smith. in recent years i've become a football fan first, and a basketball fan second. with the 3 pt. line and the shot clock play making and passing have been diminished in basketball. in football every player has an important role on every play, even decoys who are nowhere near the ball. football has become the epitome of TEAM which is what i like best about college sports.
As I have said seemingly forever: Carolina blue and white are perfection. You do not need any other trim color. Thin strips of navy are OK. Carolina blue and white are all you need.

Well that was your first mistake. Everyone knows that you gotta be up high enough to get some shade and a decent view. Lol
Supposedly they were able to lower the field when they put in the turf, so that wouldn't be an issue now.
I reserve the right to bitch about the turf as much as @gteeitup bitches about the uniforms.
Not sure. UGA says theirs was installed in 1929. Couldn't find an exact date for UNC, but I found an article talking about Ramses eating them in the mid 20s.

Putting turf in kenan is a heinous crime against all that is awesome about college football. They should at least start selling beer in the rest of the stadium to appease us purists.
At least 1 UNC grad was part of the team that built Sanford, and that team had earlier built Kenan.
Now that you mention it, I recall Keith Jackson saying something about Ramses eating the Kenan hedges, but I think he may had said that UGA also got the hedges idea from us.
I agree. I am all for grass, unless you are in an area where the growing of a nice field is very tough. Those places are very few and far between.
I think the turf is going to contrast terribly with the treeline around kenan, which is one of the best features of the stadium. I guess we’ll see for ourselves in a few months.
