I stated early on in the season when Carolina was struggling how much I thought Hubert Davis was OVER HIS HEAD as coach of my beloved Tar Heels. I also stated during the early part of the season I HOPED I WAS WRONG about Hubert and he ever turned it around I would be one of the first tar heels to say I was wrong.
I am happy and proud to say I was wrong about Coach Davis. His ability to get this particular group to work together and care about each other has truly been amazing. Early returns showed Tar Heel nation, he was failing in getting this team to play as other Carolina teams had in the past.
Let's be honest, he was learning on the job and that was my biggest problem with him being named the Head Coach; I just didn't believe Carolina was a "learn on the job" program. Having said that and with a rough start, he was able, along with the assistant coaches to get through to the players in a way Coach Williams could not. Also trying to be far to Coach Williams, Coach Davis had one person the team that Coach Williams did not. BRADY MANEK! In my opinion Brady was and is the biggest difference.
As stated earlier, I was wrong about Coach Davis and my hope is he will continue to be able, in the years to come, to be what Carolina needs to keep this program at the level we have all been accustomed too. GO HEELS!!!!!!
