Ian Jackson's Air Jordan NIL Deal

He has a NIL deal with a boutique called Extra Butter. That boutique is selling custom Jordans. Your title is a bit misleading.

This is going to get very interesting before the start of next season, still not too thrilled with reclassifications but it could work out with Cadeau. Not so sure about the others, still have some reservations.

KJ, maybe it is different Cadeau because he is old for his class, his natural class would have been 2023. But I agree, I am not a reclass fan and I do believe that Jack and Fland need to stay in the 2024 class.

Why, I think it is a pretty fair and popular notion that Cadeau will be 1 and done, what happens if Cadeau does reclass, come in early, and is one an done? On the 1 hand guys like Seth and Wilcher are less prepared to take over AFTER Cadeau leaves, will that attract Boogie, I don't know, lot of teams are after him hard now suggesting UNC is not treating him like the priority he should be so really think Boogie ends up elsewhere. If Cadeau does not reclass then we have both Wilcher and Seth getting more time to mature at the point and who know, may earn a bigger role than Cadeau by the time he gets there. Let the best man win!

Cadeau was a big part of Jackson wanting to commit to UNC. They’re friends and he knows Cadeau will make him better on the court. If Cadeau reclassifies then Ian may consider it as well. If Cadeau reclassifies and becomes a OAD and Ian stays in 2024, it’s gonna be that much harder to keep him unless Hubert lines up another strong lead guard to come in 2024.

D, you make some good points, but the portal has changed everything. I'm not an advocate of reclassifying either, but if Jackson and Cadeau want to come now, Hubert should take them. Schools are out there poaching 24-hours a day. There is no guarantee that these players will be out there in 2024. We may loose Dunn, but I will take the trade off.

Jackson says he's recruiting Boogie Fland. Boogie is a couple years younger than Cadeau, and is not a candidate to reclassify.

I don't disagree at all, the portal is a game changer and yes programs are poaching day and night so you have to continue to re-recruit your players while they are on your team. But the portal is as well showing that experience and matured players from lesser programs can many times play with the big boys and are becoming at least if not more important than kids from high school with a lot of stars. It is smart to have a blend.

In my dream world where I get to decide everything that happens...

EC reclasses and runs the point in 2023 with RJ/Dunn/Wilcher, Jackson battling for minutes at the 2 & 3 . EC is one-&-done and Ian returns for 2024.

Boogie comes in 2024 and teams with a seasoned Jackson and the rest of the squad and Carolina is back being Carolina as it should be.

In both seasons, we get grown men at the four and maybe even the five and Hubert learns in game adjustments, bench development, and player accountability.

Before you tell me all the reasons it can't happen, keep in mind this is MY dream world 😁

I wasn't talking to you, and after seeing your ignorant display on the other thread, I'm not interested in talking to you anymore.
LOL, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You made my day, I do not have to talk to you any more, I am so HAPPY! Sincerely, no bull, that makes me really happy!

Probably never happen for 2023, but one UNC great pulled it off. Fland has about 40 offers. Different beast now with the portal. There are probably a few schools trying to find a way to get him in for 2023.

How old was Jim Daugherty when he played for North Carolina?
  • Daugherty playing for North Carolina in 1985. Daugherty was one of the greatest big men ever to play at the University of North Carolina. He entered college as a 16-year-old freshman and was a two-time All-ACC first team selection, and a first team All-American in 1986.

Both Cadeau and Ian should be starting their freshman seasons anyway as both are of age already. But I agree with you 100% in that if it weren’t for that then I wouldn’t agree with it. I never like to hear about kids reclassifying otherwise

No reservations if all reclassified that may keep that core together at least two years. My reservation is how do you stop the portal. I preached for years that college basketball should have adapted college baseballs rules. If you go to college you have to stay a set amount of years. Now I think I am going to preach two year scholarships, and going back to sit out a year if you transfer, but I do think you should be able to go pro straight from high school. College sports have changed forever!
