The Notre Dame game would top the Clemson at ND game as the biggest of the season, not just for the ACC but for the nation.

And after yesterday's performance, Sam Howell would be rising to the top on all Heisman watch lists.

It would still be the same team and the odds of beating ND and Miami back to back would still not be great. But if you manage to do that then you still have to beat ND a second time to win the ACC. Could have been a rare opportunity to play for a conference title without having to go through Clemson.

Which division is ND in this season?

Upsetting ND is a huge task, one which will require our very best effort on both sides of the ball. Our lines are going to have to hold their own. Our defense has to be decent and our offense spectacular. And in all likelihood, we’re going to have to win the TO battle. IOW, we need to play an almost perfect game.

No problem, right?

It's not in South Bend... that helps!

These are our ST rankings from the front page article. We really do need a ton of improvement. ST play is too important to be this mediocre. And I know Mack was focusing on ST's coming into the season, and supposedly made basically everybody but Sam available to play ST's. For whatever reason, it hasn't yielded the results he desires yet. I'm a little surprised our numbers aren't a little better.

Just one of several areas in which we need to improve.

National Rankings
104 – Net Punting (35.61)
45 – Punt returns (9.17)
71 – Punt return D (7.89)
70 – Kickoff returns (19.44)
63 – Kickoff return D (20.25)
84 – FG percent (58.3)
