You are absolutely wrong! This happens at all schools "except Duke". Duke has never done this!
It is widely known that several years ago an elite Duke recruit attended a party during his OV when he commented to the Duke players that the hostess was an extremely ugly woman. Then he was rudely interrupted by one of Duke administraters who commented, "You dummy, that is my daughter", " The player replied, " I didn't realize that you were her Father". The administrator said " You dumb ass, I'm not her Father, I'm her Mother". True story.
Duke has had a lot of difficulty finding that perfect hostess. They spent some big money trying to find the perfect hostess . They conducted a nationwide search and their best applicants were Rosie O'Donnell and Madaline Albright lookalikes. Painful! True story.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty, even if it's Loserville. But, one thing to mention is the co author of this book is a Pulitzer Prize winner.

Looks like Pitino will be going back to the Pros! We know how that worked out last time. Funny thing is, pretty girls used to be an official part of all major college recruiting. Many had an official "Hospitality Squad" that would show the recruits around campus and "escort" them to festivities in the surrounding communities. It was supposed to be completely platonic, but there was always an undercurrent we just ignored. It changed to players becoming the hosts when peeps started to peek under the covers about 10-15 years ago! I hate this for the fans!
This happens everywhere. Literally everywhere. D2 schools even do things like this. It's sad that one school will face serious punishment over something that is very common. I guess the lesson is to pay the escorts enough so they don't have to talk to an author for money.
Sorry, but if this is indeed common practice, it needs to be corrected immediately. It's nothing but prostitution. Do you actually condone this practice in the name of landing recruits? I can only hope you're kidding. I know recruiting is dirty business but surely it hasn't come down to pimping for 18 year olds?!

Considering what we just went thru, pardon me if I decide to hold back condemning Louisville based on what a "journalist" writes and claims to be the gospel. I'd rather trust a pol than most of what passes for writers these days....the Staff of THI and most Rival (but not all) writers being exempted.
