we could look around and be assured that because Dook lost to KU, that at least we are not the worst ACC team in NC. But this is not anything close to a typical KU team, and that is Dook's only loss so far.

In Year 4 , Mack has given us the worst ACC team in NC. Not only does Dave Clawson coach rings around laughing, dancing and prancing grandpa Mack, but so does Dave Doreen, and apparently 1st time, 1st year HC Mike Elko can coach rings around Mack as well.

By the way, Elko is a former Clawson assistant. The last time that UNC hired a 1st time HC with as much promise as Elko was Bill Dooley in 1967.

A lot of people are not happy with Mack and I guess that's understandable. But it actually starts at the top. If you go back and look at what Clemson has done, around 2010ish, Clemson had a good President and AD, with a vision for what they wanted their FB program to look like, and the ability to get their boosters on the same page, they hired two great coordinators shortly thereafter, and followed that up with another really good AD, who ultimately (after a ton of success) became Miami's first big hire before bringing on Cristobal.

Now, contrast that with what Carolina has done. Mack wasn't a terrible hire with a lot of potential if managed properly. But..We were hesitant to fire Searels after fielding one of the worst OL ever, and instead we let Bateman go, after giving him basically two recruiting classes to implement his scheme. That in and of itself might not have been as big a deal had we not replaced him with Chizik, who runs an entirely different scheme, with different personnel, and frankly is not a great DC, or recruiter. What happens once Mack retires? We likely end up overhauling the defense yet again. Meanwhile, three or four solid recruiting classes will be wasted for the most part, and we'll lose all momentum. Makes ZERO sense 🤷. The difference there is easy to spot imo.

I think Bubba is a fine AD.

Fed got us to 11-1 despite all the sanctions and crap. He couldn't recruit D or create a good D, but given the timing i'd say that was a decent hire.

Mack was the right person to reboot this team personnel-wise and ignite the fan-base. Special teams looks better. O is not bad considering the OL troubles. But the softness in the trenches and confusion in D back 7 is all-time awful.

Something was wrong with the Bateman D, and I really hope it wasn't Bly, Cross, Thigpen, or yeah - we screwed ourselves.

Shortest midget competition though, right? If NCSU is legit top 10, good for them. But otherwise being best or worst in NC probably doesn't mean much.

I'm not defending Mack much lately, but if this is important to you then I think we need to let this yr play out before calling us the worst team in NC (esp given the victory over App.) We came within inches of beating NCSU last yr, we DID beat Wake & Duke. I think we'll give Wake all they can handle.

I wouldn't say we "came within inches of beating NCSU" last year. We had that game won going away but then handed it to them on a silver platter.

The clock is ticking.
Many are tired of waiting for some sustained football success.
Bubba has to go! He has proven that he can not manage a "big time" program. So many little things have needed attention (not on the field) that have been left "hanging".
My money is going to stay in my pocket until somebody fixes the problems.

This team has proven no lead is safe.
