Even though I don't have anything new to report in regards to Brandon Ingram, I have been speaking with several sources, on different sides of the equation. And I wanted to share what I was hearing with you. Please keep this here as I work very hard to provide exclusive intel for the subscribers of THI.
The main news is that Kentucky has been prioritizing Ingram more over the last couple of weeks. It's one thing when John Calipari offers a kid. It's another thing once UK prioritizes a kid. Lots of kids have a Kentucky offer, but only a handful of them know where they stand in the pecking order. Now that UK has seen so many of it's kids declare for the NBA Draft, they have been working their stable of offered recruits. About six months ago, I would have said that Ingram wasn't being intensely recruited by Calipari. It was a consistent but passive effort. They were interested but I feel that other kids were being pursued with more passion. Now that has changed. I'm not sure if it has something to do with how they feel about Jaylen Brown or what -- but UK is coming hard at Ingram now.
The other thing is that some sources near Duke have begun to show a little less confidence over the last two to three weeks with Ingram. I think they feel moderately confident, but I don't sense the same level of confidence that I saw a few weeks ago.
Thirdly, the Ingram camp is air tight. I know a lot of people act like they know stuff. And I'm not saying that some don't. But I don't believe anyone who has absolute statements about Ingram, unless it's Donald or Brandon. The college coaches don't know anything for sure (all college coaches recruiting him that is) so I'm definitely highly skeptical of a message board poster or crystal ball guru.
