Some of you will get to this tonight. Some tomorrow. Wanted to post some good nuggets you'll enjoy.
Both Chazz Surratt and Logan Byrd visited UNC over the weekend. I've felt all along that Surratt's the most likely guy at QB this year and I don't think it will be too terribly much longer. Byrd is more of a pro-style obviously and the former Hokie commit brings a lot to the table. Frankly, Byrd would probably be higher on the board than McCall or maybe even David Moore, but probably not the two main dual-threat targets.
Jordon Brown (four-star APB) visited Wake over the weekend. He's also told me he wants to visit Boston College. I'd say the most likely scenario is UNC but he's a kid that's willing to take a ton of visits. Sooner he decides the better IMO.
Spoke with recent offer recipient Kofi Boateng (Texas receiver) and UNC's got some ground to make up as Arizona State, Maryland, Texas Tech, Kansas and a couple of others are standing out. But he said he will look into UNC more and decide whether it's a possible summer visit destination.
Had a much longer talk with Cade Carney and he reiterated that he loves the role in UNC's offense they've got for him at the A-Back position. Likes that he'd be more of a pass catcher than a runner, though he can do both. Wake Forest really wants him and is recruiting him harder than UNC so that could be a factor. If Jordon Brown decides soon it could affect things with Carney although they wouldn't play exactly the same role.
Four-star linebacker Cameron Brown visited UNC, Duke, Wake Forest and State on his recent swing through N.C. He told me that UNC and Duke were his two favorite visits there, with a slight implicit preference for Duke. Doesn't mean those are his favorites. Just his favorite two of the N.C. school trips.
Some underclassmen notes
Dmitri Emmanuel ('17) is an OG/C prospect that loves the brotherhood feel at UNC. He was at the Heels' basketball game against Florida State and UNC is running very strong here.
Xach Gill ('17) is one of the state's top sophomores and the in-state programs have offered him. He's been to Wake and State but not UNC. However, Gill told me he will visit UNC sometime this spring and he's looking forward to that.
