I don't know about all that, but I just want Drake to be the next Maye to win a national championship.
Let's pump the breaks. He's not even finished with his freshman year. It's a little early to think about him being the best QB ever.
And to waste that without a single ACC Championship? Virtually criminal. So there is much work to do.I don't think Tom Brady was anywhere near the same level QB in college.
I think Drake is more like the aforementioned Peyton Manning, in terms of college performance. And, this is just his first season! I hope the kid breaks every ACC record there is to break. NCAA Records, too! It's really hard to believe that we got Sam and Drake back-to-back.
Well, as pessimistic as I am, I really don't need a "championship" to enjoy the kid's ascendancy and his week-to-week performance. I said the same about Sam Howell when it was implied that he was "wasted" by the UNC staff, or whatever. I don't think he was wasted. They played him and they did the best they could. And to waste that without a single ACC Championship? Virtually criminal. So there is much work to do.
I have very fond memories of watching Phil Ford play PG, but I will never get over the fact that he was not a National Champion. At least he got to be ACC Champion.Well, as pessimistic as I am, I really don't need a "championship" to enjoy the kid's ascendancy and his week-to-week performance. You can enjoy the wins and sulk over the losses, like any fan. But, to insist that they (Drake or Sam, or whoever) are only successful, or that their contributions are wasted or fail, if the team can or can't win a championship just isn't something I agree with. Sam set records and he was so much fun to watch! He didn't get to win as many games as I would have liked, but he and the team won some great games. It would be awesome if the team managed to get those accolades, but watching Maye and Howell play at UNC will always be fondly remembered.
Well... you may need some of what @2DDIMOND was prescribing to me! lolI have very fond memories of watching Phil Ford play PG, but I will never get over the fact that he was not a National Champion. At least he got to be ACC Champion.
