Wish the young man the best. Not quite sure what his tweet about he and UNC not being a "good fit" is referring to...he was gracious in his statement, though. Anyone have any info what was behind Jared's apparent unhappiness? He played as a freshman, and was going to be in the regular rotation at OG this year.

He played in all 13 games last year. He looked as good as any true freshman on the OL in the ACC. I expected him to be a beast as our top OL reserve and to step in for Turner next year and be as good as Turner was last year.

No inside info but he may have just been homesick. Plus, we forget these guys have a whole other life in addition to football. Making friends, especially when you are from Maryland and don't know anyone there (something not everyone is good at, even football players), going to class, trying to meet girls, etc. It's a challenging time.

I agree, he was darn good though. I wish him well and hope that one day he will at least reflect on, and think positively about his time spent in the Southern part of Heaven.

I believe he had some personal issues and took a leave from school initially. The staff expected him back. People are human and can go thru things like anyone else. Wish that young man the best. He's going to be a stud wherever he lands.
