Someone on another site says that Clarke might have some grades issues. Anybody heard anything? And awhile back there were rumors that Junior G might go ahead and graduate as a senior this yr. Anybody heard anything?

Apparently Clarke will take a leave of absence from school and won't be back with the team until the Fall. Not sure what the program is but it has to do with academics. He's expected to be back but needless to say missing the spring and summer is not good.

And many are saying Junior will go ahead and graduate and give up his last year of eligibility. Not sure why.

We should still be better on the D-line but the coaches have their work cut out for them. I wonder if Dalton wouldn't be better at DE, which is what he was recruited for and everyone thought he had the best skill set for. But probably he'll be back at DT. Either way, he should be much better as this was his first season. Just hope we don't take an elite talent for DE to just be Ok at DT.

Strowbridge was considered a top prospect at DE as well, though not as highly rated as Dalton. He was RS this year. We'll see how well he does. Hopefully he shines. Powell played outside late in the season. So maybe the coaches are thinking he moves to DE? Carney was a linebacker we moved to DE. Wonder if he moves back. And we have freshman Tomon Fox coming in assumes he signs at DE. He will probably redshirt.

So if Junior doesn't come back, we still have a lot of options including senior Mickey Bart and junior (I think) Drennon. It will be interesting to see who will actually start and get into the rotation at DE, especially if Dalton plays up to his recruiting billing and moves back to DE.

At DT, we have a guy Kyree Campbell coming in that actually may play as a true freshman and see some time on the field. Naz Jones, Crawford, Dinkins, Clarke, Dalton (if stays at DT), Powell (same) and Kyree Campbell should all be part of a much improved unit.

It has been said on several recruiting sites , that if we get all the guys we are currently after there will have to be attrition. How big is Carney now?

Man. Marquise was gone an entire spring for the same reason - academics. But we really need big things from Jeremiah Clarke if the D wants to be decent next yr.

If you removed him and Junior, it is easy to see the dline having a tough time in terms of experience and depth.

I'm actually starting to worry more about DE than DT. If Gnonkonde graduates, our only scholarship DEs coming back are Drennon, Bart, Carney, and Strowbridge. That's woefully thin, especially with Carney seeing limited time and Strowbridge yet to take a snap. Even with Fox and DeFranco coming in we might have to get creative with some inside/outside guys like Powell and Dalton.

Main thing with the DL is just weathering the storm, building depth and experience. Withers left us in bad shape and it has taken longer to rebuild because we've missed on targets like Tuttle and Lawrence that would've made an immediate impact. Webb's departure didn't help. Gnonkonde, from what I've heard, wants more playing time. Injuries and academics have burned red shirts and forced position changes. I'd be satisfied with incremental improvement this season. Get this class enrolled. Avoid injuries and academic casualties.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Bingo. I said something very similar in another thread (can't remember where). We still have not recovered from Withers.

Jeremiah Clarke is back and enrolled in summer school and will be eligible for 2016. Will Dancy has graduated and will transfer.

We badly needed Clarke.

Dancy would have helped make our OL the most experienced 2-deep in the ACC, but we have enough OL talent so that his loss should not hurt us.
