They now two top 100 big me committed with Sims and Hamm. Does this help us with Washington?

since his father is a coach doubt PJ will have selfish attitude..he can always contact Shaka if concerned...if he takes scheduled visit probably non factor

When all else is equal a small thing can be a deciding factor, this does not help Texas at all...
saying all else is equal is just an opinion. Relationships with coaching staffs , geographical location and many other things could factor in as well and any of these could be a positive or negative for UNC.

He didn't say all else was equal, just that a small thing can make the difference.

I hope the "sky is falling" folks realize always taking everything as a negative is just as dumb as taking everything as a positive.

Oh here we go. There is nothing negative in my response. I said the other factors could be positive or negative for UNC. Go back and re-read it.

Just saying we are in a good position already..this moves UK up in line I would assume..seeming that it may have been a two team edge with us and TX over everybody else!!..now they should be more of a player..I guess!!..but what do I know?

"saying all else is equal is just an opinion." <-- I do not understand what that means?

All I said is when all other factors are weighted and a kid is equally torn between 2 or more other programs that a small thing can be a deciding factor. A kid looking at one of his preferred programs taking a commit from a kid that plays at his same position that will be anticipated to get solid PT, that is actually more than a small thing in the mind of these kids now days. It may not be enough to take Texas out, if it did or does take Texas out then it is a big thing and not a small thing.

"saying all else is equal is just an opinion." and opinion it may be but it is the kid's opinion and if the kid believes he is equally torn and this small thing happens then yes it can effect the final decision, the kid's opinion is not a small thing and the kid actually has the power to turn his opinion in to absolute fact. Ya know the deal with the camel with the broken back, that last straw didn't weight any more than any of the other straws did.

OK, as I said, this snag of Sims may not kill Texas but it does not help them and I do agree, Ky has been working this kid very hard. Our fortune has not been great going against Ky for a kid from the mid west or south east. Our UNC brand does not play as strong on the wrong side of the Mississippi.

But for me, his dad taking the Findley gig is telling and the UNLV pockets run deep for Findley and his being across town from dad? Now maybe his dad wants to establish a Findley to UNC pipeline and is willing to turn a blind eye to UNLV and those deep pocket boosters and establish a pipeline to a blue blood a long way across the country. Those deep pockets can sure help maintain the cash flow for a prep school ...

"Although a raw prospect, it is the upside of Sims that makes him such an alluring prospect. So much so he is ranked the top 50 prospect in the Top@#%."

Not saying you are wrong, just trying to understand where ya coming from with the raw label. Kid is a 4 star, I totally agree that he could use some body development, guess when I think project I am thinking more of a Joel James or even the top 20 kid we wanted that went to Kansas from last years class. Best I can recall Sims is kinda like Brice was seen prior to college?

Rivals has him #146 and a 3*. Brice was #45 or so composite. He is a national composite #73. He is a project to me and there are different levels of projects. I don't see him contributing before his junior year , but that's just me.

Seems to me Rivals is late to the party. 247 at 73rd, ESPN and 67th and Scout at 48th. Thats 3 out of 4 major national recruiting sites with a much higher ranking. Im gonna go with the numbers on this one.

I was only referencing Coby White's tweet after committing to us and that it seemed to make Dotson mad. Bur said he hopes Sims commitment has the same effect on PJ. Just a joke.
Who said anything about someone being mad?..i don't do the twitter thing,so this is all new info to me...what I said was in the context that white committing has pushed Dotson in another direction..same thing I'm hoping that Sims pushes pj in our direction!!

We have had some discussion here about the value of rankings and I mention that because you are using rankings to drive your point, understand, I am not saying your point is wrong, just the ranking numbers I would take issue with.

When we talk about where a kid is ranked, it is kinda like ya have to be all in or all out. Well the fact is the top 20-30 players in most classes one would have to be near blind not to see the talent and of course those that have that talent more on display are easy to rank among the top players. But you start getting upwards around #50 and things begin to even out, it becomes way more subjective and in what I see the talent levels become much less separated.

When I see a deviation like those you give me on Sims, tells me someone was not impressed with him from Rivals the last time they watched him play, kids have bad games, If he is #146 then yeah, I would say that at least by those ranking him, is maybe a project, for example Joel James. But his composite, average, at #73 means someone liked him near or within the top 50 and that is Brice range as you offer. I don't know if the kid would have the same kind of college career Brice had, I think many would have considered Brice a bit of a project coming to UNC but not the level of project Joel James was.

Coby tweeted "I am a pg"..Say goodbye to Dotson!!
Haha you were the one that brought his tweet to this board. Its all good buddy. If Sims pushes PJ away from UT in the slightest bit we're both happy. Same page.

In the words of crooked Hillary "What does it really matter"? He's going to Texas and there is where my interest has ended.

With what I have said last couple days concerning the impact of Sims to Texas, want to make sure I clarify one point. I am not suggesting it is just Sims to Texas, my point is that it is now Texas with a solid 4 front court guys that will either be frosh next season or from 2017 class. It isn't that Sims on his own is the huge factor, it is more that with Sims they now have a solid 4 and that is a challenge to PT that kids do look at. Not saying that PJ could not commit there and not win the starting job, I think he would but these 5 star kids do not typically like a log jam of 4 & 5 star players at their same position.

I damn sure didn't get it from twitter!!..but so nice of you to dig in the crates ..shows you how much I care about that..hell,I forgot where I even found that tweet!!

You didn't get a tweet from twitter? Now I am all confused, thought that was how it works but I don't tweet, twit, snip or snap so what do I know! LOL
