• Carolina improved to 2-1 and won its eighth straight at Kenan Stadium with a 56-28 victory over James Madison. It was the Tar Heels’ 12th-straight win over an FCS team.

• Carolina’s eight-game win streak at Kenan Stadium includes all seven home games from last year and is the longest consecutive win streak at home since Mack Brown’s Tar Heels won 10 straight from 1995-97. Carolina has scored 40-or-more points in seven of the eight games.

• Head coach Larry Fedora improved to 22-6 at Kenan Stadium during his five seasons in Chapel Hill.

• Including last week’s 48-23 win at Illinois, Carolina has scored 104 (52 per game) points over the last two weeks.

• Carolina and James Madison combined for 84 points, 1,130 yards, 58 first downs and 165 penalty yards.

• Carolina gained 635 total yards of offense, the seventh-highest total in school history and the 12th time with at least 600 yards in one game.

• Carolina passed for 462 yards (432 by Mitch Trubisky and 30 by Nathan Elliott), the third highest in UNC history (537 vs. Duke in 2015 and 469 vs. NC State in 2003).

• Carolina scored touchdowns on eight of its 11 drives (end of half, punt and lost fumble ended the other three drives). All eight touchdown drives covered at least 72 yards. The drives went for 75, 75, 82, 82, 77, 72, 72 and 91 yards. Carolina’s average scoring drive length was 78.3 yards.

• The teams combined for 11 touchdown drives. All 11 drives covered at least 72 yards and nine of the 11 went at least 75 yards. JMU’s four TD drives went 82, 75, 75 and 75 yards.

• Junior quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed 24 of 27 pass attempts for a career-high 432 yards and three touchdowns. He had a quarterback rating of 260.

• Trubisky’s 432 yards are the third most in UNC single-game history behind Marquise Williams’ 494 vs. Duke in 2015 and T.J. Yates’s 439 vs. Florida State in 2010. The 432 yards are second-most by a Tar Heel in Kenan Stadium and the most ever by a junior (Williams had 390 vs. Georgia Tech in 2014).

• Trubisky set the school record for most passing yards gained per attempt (min. 25 attempts). He averaged 16.0 yards per attempt, breaking the mark of 15.1 yards by Marquise Williams against Old Dominion in 2013.

• Trubisky set the school record for most consecutive pass completions in a game with 18. The previous record of 16 straight was held by Marquise Williams vs. Pitt in 2014. Two of Trubisky’s 18 completions went for touchdowns, 10 of the 18 went for 10 yards or more, 12 of the 18 went for first downs, and they went to seven different Tar Heel receivers.

• Trubisky is one completion shy of tying the multi-game school record for consecutive completions (19 by Bryn Renner vs. James Madison and Rutgers in 2011).

• Trubisky also set the UNC record for most consecutive pass attempts without an interception with 156. The previous mark of 154 was set by Oscar Davenport in 1996-97. Trubisky’s last interception came 14 games ago against NC State on 11/29/14.

• Trubisky’s 75-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Switzer was the longest completion of his career. His previous long was 64 yards last year vs. Delaware.

• Carolina has completed 51 of 56 pass attempts in its last two games against James Madison (29 of 33 today and 22 of 23 in 2011).

• Junior tailback Elijah Hood rushed 18 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. He moved into tie for ninth place at UNC with 25 career rushing touchdowns. It was his ninth career 100-yard rushing game. He needs just 12 rushing yards for 2,000 in his career.

• Carolina had two pass plays of at least 70 yards in the first half. Last season, the Tar Heels had just three pass plays of 70 yards or more in the entire season.

• Mack Hollins is now tied with Art Weiner for fourth place in UNC history with 18 career TD catches. His 71-yard TD catch was the eighth reception of his career that has gone for 70 or more yards.

• T.J. Logan had 151 all-purpose yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. He scored on a 6-yard run in the first quarter, a 7-yard run in the third quarter and a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter. Logan finished with 44 yards receiving, 41 yards rushing and 66 on kickoff returns. He passed Kelvin Bryant for eighth in UNC history in career all-purpose yards.

• Logan tied his career high with three rushing touchdowns. He also had three against Old Dominion on 11/23/13.

• Switzer had five catches for 101 yards. It was his sixth career 100-yard game. His 75-yard touchdown reception tied the second-longest catch of his career. He had an 89-yard reception last year vs. Duke and a 75-yarder at Clemson in 2014.

• Switzer tied Na Brown for fifth place in UNC history in career receptions with 165. He had 13 punt return yards today to move into eighth place in ACC history.

• Austin Proehl made a career-high five receptions for 82 yards. He had four catches last year vs. Illinois.

• Only three Tar Heels had carries, but 12 different players had receptions, including first career catches for Jordan Cunningham, Devin Perry and Anthony Ratliff-Williams.

• Carolina converted 7 of 8 third-down chances and were 6 for 6 (all touchdowns) in the red zone.

• Carolina scored 35 points in the first half. That is the most points scored in a half since also posting 35 in the first half at NC State last year.

• James Madison scored touchdowns on each of its first three possessions, but the Tar Heel defense allowed just one score (a touchdown) on the Dukes’ final eight possessions. Those seven defensive stops included four punts, one loss of downs, one missed field goal and one end of game.

• Cornerback Des Lawrence broke up three passes.

• Linebacker Cayson Collins tied his career high with 10 tackles (also at Georgia Tech last year).

• Carolina allowed 21 points in the first quarter. That is the most points UNC has allowed in a quarter since Miami scored 23 in the second quarter in 2014.

• Freshman linebacker Dominique Ross recorded his first career sack, bringing down JMU quarterback Bryan Schor for a 9-yard loss.

• Carolina was without defensive linemen Dajaun Drennon, Nazair Jones and Tomon Fox because of injury. Redshirt freshman Jason Strowbridge made his first career start at defensive end and made his first career sack.
