Not much chatter regarding the JMU game. Is it just me, or does James Madison have anybody else worried? They're averaging 68 PPG while giving up only 14. Their rushing attack is very potent averaging 405 YPG and 6.3 YPA. They average 157 YPG passing and 12.5 YPA. They are a ground oriented team, running the ball over 3 times as much as they pass it.

This is not a team that will be intimidated by UNC, even at our place. I sure hope we don't take this game for granted while looking forward to Pitt. If so, it could spell defeat for us.

if we'd won vs UGA I could see this being a trap game due to some cockiness, but i think we'll be dialed in. Their outstanding stats help garner some focus.

I doubt the coaches convey this to players, but they probably want to run up the score given that the committee (and the nation) will frown upon two fcs games.

They haven't played anybody but connor mitch is their QB.

That guy seems like he's been around forever. I know their competition has been weak but those are still very impressive numbers. Our rush defense will be tested.

unfortunately every game seems to test our rush defense.

We should dominate in the trenches as long as our guys don't come out flat. Hopefully we'll see a lot of penetration from the defensive front.

Once we're comfortably ahead I think Fed should get Mitch some deep throws so he can settle in. Confidence is a huge factor with throwing a good deep ball. If you're constantly doubting yourself or trying to correct for your last mistake it can quickly spiral out of control and you end up missing 5 or 6 throws in a row (like we saw against UGA). Hitting a few deep balls this weekend could be the confidence boost he needs to start consistently hitting those throws when we need it against tougher competition.

A thread about a football game on the football board. Love it. :)

I'm a little worried. JMU is very impressive on paper, but it's hard to gauge their performance because the teams they've played are terrible. We've seen some pretty big upsets in the first couple weeks of the season. That, plus the Dukes' performance to date, should have the full attention of the Tar Heels. I still expect to win by at least two touchdowns.

This should be a blow out, and we really need to see the offense clicking and gaining some momentum heading into what is the toughest part of our schedule. We have dominated lower division teams since Fed has been here and this game shouldn't be any different.
