I would objectively imagine the award will be Frank Mason's to lose. Juat more ammo for Berry to rip it up as a senior.

Yeah, those two have been great for sure. I love Berry and a player would probably rank him second behind Mason but as a point third behind Ball. Regardless, dude has been great for us this year. I absolutely love our offense when Theo and Joel and in at the same time. I think it allows both players to excel at what they each do best. I don't blame Berry if he leaves but hope to get to see him one more year in a Heel uniform.
I agree. He was 3rd best PG this season IMO. No harm in that.
Call me crazy but I'm not sold on Lonzo Ball. Do I think he's a good player? Absolutely. But I also think he benefits from playing in weak conference out west.
I think Joel is a long shot for the Cousy. Still, a fine college player. If he leaves, I wish him the best. If not, I still wish him the best.
Ball is a sometimes spectacular play-maker, he's gonna have good Assist #s and is a great fit for UCLA, but I don't trust that shot. I would guess Mason wins based on the scoring #s and being a Wooden favorite. Again, there are some really strong PGs in that group. But if I had my pick as a coach to be my guy on BOTH ends of the floor? That's JB.
Interesting..........Ball the real deal, however UCLA lack of defense may haunt them. I think they will lose in the elite 8.
None of them play defense in that league. They have some talent offensively but don't see anybody in that league being able so win 2 games in a row against equal or greater competition that they'll face the 2nd weekend of the big tourney to get to the final 4.
Ball is dynamic but what other really good/elite guards are in that league that he competed against consistently....I'll wait. There's nowhere near the talent out there in comparison to the ACC every night. Not sold on his shot or his ability to defend at all.

Arizona top 5 defense in the nation, with a very good backcourt. Oregon had a phenomenon backcourt as well as USC. He also played and beat Kentucky in Rupp. UCLA was terrible last season before him.
To be specific, I'm talking point guards, not shooting guards or combo 2/3's. That league has plenty of those Dillon Brooks type players but not one elite PG outside of him that I can think of.
And where is Arizona a top 5 defense? That's 100% inaccurate. Just looked at NCAA team defense stats and they aren't in the top 25 in any of the major categories, scoring defense, fg% defense, etc...Oregon is prob best team on both ends of floor. PAC 12 outside that top 3 is shit.
I'll simply say that there is not another PG in the country that I would trade Joel for. Absolutely love everything about this young man.
Ball doesn't play great D but Mason does. Mason is the best PG in the country IMO. I think he is just outstanding. I agree on Ball's shot as well. I think he is excellent on offense as a playmaker and running an offense but eventually that shot is going to be an issue.
I'm not saying I would trade anyone for Joel. Love the dude and especially love his attitude. I actually think a Mason/Berry matchup would be a ton of fun to watch.
