He was THE difference maker in this game. His decision making and IQ have really developed this year. He created HUGE plays all night long. If we win tomorrow night he will undoubtedly be preseason AA for next season.

Really - Brice, Paige, Berry - three headed leadership monster! I love it. And Justin and Pinson giving us good all around games when we need it. Very balanced! Awesome

Now everyone can see what I and a very few others were talking about with Joel, why I was so high on him, why I really wanted to see him start for us last season. The kid is amazing with the grit he plays with, he brings what I would call a football mentality to the basketball game, he just plays thru no matter what happens and he brings that blue collar work to every game he steps in to, no matter who is in front of him.
You don't trap him, you don't press him, he is to strong and has to much will to be stripped, he does not panic no matter what is going on around him. He reminds me of Sam Elliot in "we were soldiers" weapons firing all around him and he is walking unafraid as if it were a stroll in the park on a Sunday. That is Joel, trap him if you want but he wil beat ya, he will dribble right thru it with his strength with the ball, kid is ball strong. You may think you can drive on him but others have tried and they are watching games on TV now rather than playing in them.
Every one talks about Brice's production and some even ponder why Brice is so much better this season than before, I personally think Joel has a lot to do with Brice's success, he gets Brice the ball in position to do something good with it, it is not always the assist, many times it is the pass that sets up the assist that was the real key. Every one talks about the leadership that Marcus gives us and yes, it is outstanding but no one seems to talk about the leadership Joel berry gives us every time he steps on that court. I can not recall a single game this season that I would classify as a bad game from Joel, he has had some better than others but IMO not one bad game and IMO he is the ONLY player on this team I can say that about and that is said with no disrespect intended toward any other kid. When Joel is on the court I am always confident that we are in this game!

He is Mr. Consistent, and has a calming effect on the team. Always seems to slice the defense and hit a floater or layup when we really need a bucket. 10:1 lastnight.. He really helps this team go and I love seeing him and Marcus run the offense and scrap on defense.

I haven't seen him around here in a long time. I remember when Berry signed with UNC, he stated he'd be the next great Carolina PG.

I hope Villanova tries to press Berry and Paige tomorrow night because it will be a lay up drill for Jackson and Johnson.
I've never hated on Berry, but could not see his greatness. NOW I DO! Next year is starting to look pretty good. Great job JB!
