Johnny Furphy, SF, Australia

The advantage with a kid like Furphy is that he wouldn't be expecting starter style minutes in his first year. He'll also be fundamentally sound, having gone to an elite sports high school, and then the Centre of Excellence in Canberra....

That said, Hubert better move quickly and have a good sales pitch... Kansas has offered and Duke, Indiana and others are interested too.

Not sure of that. He reclassed back a year already, and did mention one key factor he will be looking at in his upcoming decision now is playing time. Looks like all the big boys are in or will be in on him.

He will be ranked higher then Nickel, who most thought would be good with getting developing minutes in his first year, but was not. Seems like this kid is expecting early minutes.

A bummer to hear… I haven’t seen him play but I’d be surprised if Hubert would guarantee playing time… don’t know about other programs.

I doubt any "guarenteed" time as well. I do think he will take into account the rosters and where he is confident he will be able to fit in quickly with court time.

UNC is not deep at the 3, and he really blew up at the Global Academy games and the last tourney, I forget the name the same against the elite. Long, lanky, big time athletic 6'7 from the clips I saw. He should be able to step in at the college level. I think he would fit well here to earn quick time.

Just a guess on my part, but with the recent Kansas SF recruit departure he may be eyeing that Grady Dick type role there too.

All the big boys want him, but none of the big boys have a vacant starting spot. Wherever he goes he'll be coming off the bench.

Agreed, but Kansas seems pretty confident. They only have 9 scholarship guys now, maybe 10 if they lift a redshirt. They think he and McCullar can fit well.

As you and others have pointed out the 3 here should have available PT if he is ready as well.

Furphy popped for Kansas. Great get for them.

They seem to still be alive in the elongated Flory Budinga courtship now as well. He is said to be pushing the decision back 2 or 3 more weeks.

I think Duke is the leader still, but I would prefer Kansas. Just hope he goes elsewhere then Dook.

I'm simply amazed that KU is able to recruit like they are. I mean, who the f*ck wants to be in Kansas?
