...thought y'all would enjoy.

Seems several NBA guys were playing, including Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Frank Kaminsky. Berry and MKG are friendly from AAU days (have to remember he isn't much older than our seniors) and he brought some Hornets with him. Also playing was --- wait for it --- Vince Carter. Joel, BRob, 7th and a few other of our guys joined in for a few games, but not much to report on them (since my source was so thrilled about playing with Vince F***ing Carter).

Apparently everyone thought it was pretty cool playing pick-up with Vinsanity, and he was having a big time, holding court and trash-talking the younguns ("How you gonna let an old guy do that to ya?") and joking about having to shoot an "old-man-fall-away" these days with his knee out (like MJ did with the Wizards) to "keep the kids off me". But make no mistake, my guy said Vince was in incredible shape and looked more like 30 than 40, and when he wanted to "can still jump outta the gym". Vince pulled off one of his trademark 2-handed Olympic-hammer-throw dunks, if there was any doubt what was up.

Oh, also joining the festivities was everyone's favorite alum McCants, who was "hittin' shots from the time line".

That's all for now...

One brief currents note: My source (whose dad is a coach and will make a good coach himself one day) did elaborate on something he'd mentioned before on how much more comfortable 7th looks when he's off the ball, curling off screens for one-bounce pull-ups, or slashing to the rack off the catch...

Thanks Gary,
Yeah, hard to imagine any other alum (besides the GOAT) who'd generate more excitement turning up for a pick-up game.

When your guy gets over his man crush please fill us in on the "kids"...love to hear how some of our other younger players are doing in that situation. Thanks, gary.

By the way Gary, my post wasn't meant to question your intel if that's how it sounded. I totally believe you. I was just saying it's a little shocking building security let's the guy in. Ha. Thanks for the info!

Yeah I wonder about that myself. I was told that the older and younger guys are sorta laissez-faire about it. However, some of the guys more contemporary to him apparently dont share that attitude.

Best dunker I've ever seen, bar none. Among my top five favorite UNC players.
One more thing about Vince's hops --- and I think he's said this before --- getting up ain't the problem, it's coming down. "It hurts" these days.

Hell, I can imagine if you're up that high that the landing would indeed get painful over time. So he picks his spots for the aerobatics at 40 ;).
