I hate when we lose and the board goes crazy.....but I do have a simple observation from watching the Heels since 1968....you have to expect this when a teams composition is like UNI's.
UNI is a team that has a make up of what always will give UNC problems. UNC is big and long. UNC since the 60s has traditionally played "big". Roy has continued that. It's the reason Coach K originally developed what he does by surrounding the three point line with shooters. He said himself it was the only formula to beating Dean. So he recruited that way- spread you out and make those bigs guard a shooter. With that said, we always praise the team when we punish folks on the inside, but crucify them when a team like Duke or UNI beats us. It's simple, Roy and his defensive style has to give up something, the possibility of giving up an open 3 is what his defense has always given up. When they miss, we look good, when they hit them,well we lose. Any team that spreads us out will ALWAYS give a Roy Williams coached team problems. It is what it is, you can't cover it all.
We will be fine and this will be good for this team. Personally, I never was convinced this was the best team in the country anyway. I think they are ONE of the best. There are ten teams who can win it all this year.
