Really K, really? The freakin FBI just arrested assistant coaches and there isn't a major problem?

He says "We don't lose kids in recruiting because of someone cheating." ? Is this because you can cheat better than the other guy?

His entire tone says shoe companies should be able to steer players to certain programs, I guess when he has been able to dominate the top 10 talents each year along with Kalipari, he doesn't think anything is wrong with shoe companies or sports agencys paying kids to play for his program.

"But does that mean everything is pure? No. Obviously not. But I think for the most part, it is." < Really he said that, after the FBI arresting folks in 1 half a sentence he says things are not pure and in the second half he says they are? REALLY AMAZING! Why not just come out and say he knows shoe companies and agents have paid players to play for duke, he is as much as saying it is fine if they did, what not admit it publicly? LOL

It is because he can cheat better than the other guy, right Jeff?

hey this guy and his loyal band of lemmings(a aka Dookie fans) that would follow him over a cliff and believe every word this creep says...THIS jerk has been covering up successfully for the last 7 years the one of the biggest NCAA violations in its history... The Lance Thomas $70k illegal benefit diamond scam.

Why wouldn't he think all is nearly well; he has gotten away with this and several other things as well, with no questions or concerns from anyone at the NCAA

He sure was angry at Gotti when he got out "recruited" for DS, Jr.

I wonder what swayed the youngster so.....hmmmm?

Well roy pretty much said the exact same thing on david glenn show today.

Listen at what clowns like kay, Cal, Miller, Beoheim are saying, that's pretty much all you need to know about the recruiting game, and the Feds know it.

Sorry, if K told me the sun would rise tomorrow, I would set my clock. Pretty much sums up how I feel about anything coming from his pie-hole. Ever.

Well roy pretty much said the exact same thing on david glenn show today.

Well, Roy also said he didn't know anything about any of this paying players stuff, love Roy but ya know he knew what was going on considering how many kids he went after that all the sudden dropped us. But what else could he say really, yeah I knew players were being paid and then have to field questions of why he didn't do all he could to see it stopped?

Roy believes in this fraternity of coaches and just is not going to go out of his way to hurt another head coach. Yet many in his fraternity of coaches don't act like brothers, don't play by the rules. Evil grows when good men do nothing and I do think in part the ugly part of the sport we now can not dispute found its fertile ground to grow in the fact that coaches that do try to do things the right way stood silent when they knew.

Roy lives by creeds I was taught, words like loyality, honor, respect... were not just words tossed out easily but words you lived by. Now days everyone wants to use these words but very few seem to know what they even mean. We wouldn't have nearly the number of meltdowns here if we tried to understand and actually use those words properly. But if the rest of the world can't live by those words now days how can I expect posters to. Kinda sad really...

David, I agree that Roy suspected shenanigans in recruiting but without specifics what was he to do?
Knowing what we know now, it sure seems there were a large number of programs involved in shoe money recruiting, blue bloods ncluded.
We chose not to do those things. Others did. I am certain Roy suspected the unlawful activities but without some firsthand knowledge, again, do you attempt to blow the whistle? Or just run your own clean program?
Tough question.
I'm sure as the investigation moves ahead we will find out all the ugly truth.

Totally agree Tom and it is a difficult situation, if you know what is happening, I think Roy did know, but do not have the absolute proof that could not be disputed then how do you prove it. So to make the allegation and not have the proof makes you look like a fool and you just are not going to get the level of proof needed.

Look at this site for a small example, many of us have discussed some of the dirt that has been going on many times and yet note how often we were accused of conspiracy theory spreading and told to go refit our tin hats. How many times were discussions like that side tracked by demands of links of written proof? How do you factually prove a verbal without a tape recorder or ability to compel someone to testify under court oath> you can't.

That is exactly what Roy would have been met with had he gone to the NCAA about what he knew. But there are other venues, confidential information shares with friendly media (as rare as those have been for us to find over the last few years), even as we now see, legal authorities being presented with information. Drastic steps for sure but it takes drastic steps to stop a wrong else that wrong grows in to an acceptable kinda right. Isn't that a reflection of the world we live in today, wrongs gone unchecked are becoming kinda acceptable rights because good people are either unwilling or afraid to stand up and say this is wrong and it has to stop. But when you do that now days you are chastised and marginalized to the the extent that you just want to shrink away and let things blow up.

Roy knows, you can bet alot of $$$ on that.

There was this little deal years ago when he was still at Kansas involving bigtime recruit Mike Miller. RW made some comments about UF/Billy Donovan tactics. It got alot of attention, good and bad, from Billy, the media, and a few other coaches.

I suspect now he rather stay away from public comments, even knowing the truth.

Hey, Seahawk, I noticed CB McGrath's comments from Wilmington...pretty tough message and reading it I sure know who he meant. Huge indicator of what Roy & Staff have been dealing with for years.
