Kansas-Wichita St. cautionary tale

You got the big state school avoiding playing the smaller state school , but then you run into a tournament or bowl game and cannot avoid them any longer, The smaller state school has a motivational edge the big state school just can't match because the smaller school doesn't even resonate with them. Some of you who keep urinating and moaning about playing ECU need to take note. You play them semi-regularly in the regular season and you take away that motivational edge and if they beat you a few times the edge even switches sides.

Do you really expect ECU to become relevant in basketball, or are you referring to playing them in football?

No not in the next couple of decades. I was referring to FB , but no one has made a comment in days on FB board, It will also help if we can become relevant in CFB.

No body gives a shit about EZU ! As far as the Kansas , Wichita St. game , Kansas tends to go out in the 2nd round. And Wichita st. was a good basketball program prior to their current coach and he has taken them to another level. They are big time now.

Definitely do not play ECU in football. ECU is a waste of UNC's time.

The situation is not analogous to the Sunflower State. First is the sport. Football has only 12 regular season games, as opposed to nearly 30 for basketball. Even more impiortant, we have 3 league foes also in NC. KU has only K-St in league. ECU is in nowheresville. Wichita State is in the largest city in KS.

I think it would be good for basketball in KS if Wichita St got to play KU one years then the next play K-St.

What damn difference does the size of the city make?? ECU has almost twice the students as Wichita State , Greenville is bigger than Chapel Hill and Eastern and Southeastern North Carolina has probably turned out more College football and basketball players than Wichita , KS. Wichita State is a "good team" (11 NCAAT appearances) but does anybody really think they had more talent than Kansas? Did anybody think the last 2 ECU teams we played had more talent than UNC? I'm not saying play them every year but 2-3 times a decade instead of the community college level shit they are bringing into Kenan this year. I am sure fans are just salivating over those games. I am just sick and tired of paying for season tickets for games against Division II teams (and I know that is not the right terminology but you no what I mean).
