Can’t always rely on just having more talent than the other team. With all the NBA stars and superstars that have come through there Cal should have 2-3 titles at least. Guy is an average at best bench coach.

Well he averages like 1 Point per game, so I imagine most don't see it as important.
That road win at Tennessee continues to look better and better.
I sure heard from UK fans last week when Jalek got suspended & he only averaged 2 points.
At best! He is a deer in the headlights at crunch time, relies on talent & favorable officiating. Has no idea what to do. That's why the only title he has is one he didn't have to sweat, why I feel sure we'd have beaten them in the title game w/Butter in 2012.
There's a pretty significant difference between being suspended from the team for "violating team rules" and being suspended from the university for allegations of sexual assault.
Rumors here in Ky was Wynyard & a friend was attending a party at EKU. One of them had a gun or something like that...... but you know how rumors are.
Wouldn't surprise me. Ol' Ricky P. used to be known to pop a toot or three.
Cal is going to have a lot of experienced players next year. Almost NONE of them deserve to be drafted.
Some will be, of course, but I expect several will return.

Yeah, I read that too. Wouldn't be surprising. I'm sure whatever it is will be attempted to be hushed and forgotten.
Slimy is an exceptional recruiter and a below average bench coach. The problem with this is that evaluating the progression of 12-16 year olds is basically an educated guessing game! There are so many potential pitfalls for youngsters on their way to becoming impactful college players! This why I love Roy's system. It doesn't depend on a recruit realizing his ultimate potential right away, but allows them to develop over time while the team keeps winning!

Yeah, could not agree more, great recruiter even if many look the other way at how he is so successful as a recruiter. But yeah, below average in most every other aspect of a coach IMHO. Has always been his MO, to out talent, he used to strongly recruit kids that other schools didn't have a chance to get thru admissions. If I am not mistaken he had 3 Laurenburg Institute (pure grade point factory) kids on 1 of his UMass teams.
Ten top 50 recruits on that team! TEN!! Including 2 top 10! Calling it under achieving doesnt do it justice. Pathetic coaching job. Couldnt happen to a more deserving fan base. Just a matter of time before cal starts getting death threats from that bunch of hillbbillies.
Agreed. I've always said the same thing....just look at him when UK starts falling apart or the other team goes on a run. He simply doesn't know what to do or how to stop it, so he just resorts to yelling at his players. Sometimes the players are playing poorly sure, but sometimes the coach needs to adjust the game plan and I'm not sure Cal knows how to adjust in game so he just yells at the players some more.
The problem Kal has now is is no matter where his players were ranked, he does not have that dominating game altering guy, knox is as close as he has and he isn't close to an Anthony Davis. He also is now having to deal with 3 5 star guys that are all basically the same player (Knox, PJ, Vandy). You want your class to be portioned out to multiple positions, the center (Richards) has not played like a 5 star nor has the PG. It is a class that would be special if it stayed around but but looks like all their 5stars are goin g to be 1st rpund draftees?

The other overlooked thing is there ain't a legit 2-Guard on the roster. Recruiting for need often outweighs recruiting for ranking.
Both can work - there isn't a single correct answer.
Having a gaggle of good-not-great OAD players is probably not the answer, though.
