Kevin Knox 'life-boat video' ?!? Say's he'd save Coach Cal?

The only positive I took from that interview was that Knox mentioned UNC first when giving his list and actually mentioned them twice. Other than that, not much to take from the interview.

I've all but had my fill of Kevin Knox. To say this kid rubs me the wrong way would be an understatement. He couldn't care less about the program he plays for or the coach. It's all about him be promoted and nothing more.

After reading Know's later interview, I am not sure I care if we get him. He seems almost lazy by what he says.

He also said he is waiting on Luke and Grayson to make their decisions. Doesn't care that we won a championship. And, would be thrilled to play with the people from Kentucky.

But, it was his lifting weights and working on his game part that really screamed lack of dedication to me. Not sure he is going to be as good and as vital to our program as we think.

I get the vibe he's trying to say "the right thing" to not tip his hand.
My biggest pet peeve is when recruits think we're stupid. I hate when they act like they have no idea where they're going.
They have no idea today, they won't know tomorrow, they'll have no idea on April 15th but on April 17th on the ESPN signing day special, they'll make up their minds then.

I know JJ isn't comong back , but a senior JJ would be head , shoulders and feet above Knox. Roy has got to be a different kind of person to be able to put up with and stroke the egos of these prima donnas. I just don't think DES would be doing it.

I get that vibe with 90% of the recruits today.
I certainly get that vibe with the elite recruits. They've been catered to for years and it often gives them an exaggerated sense of their importance. I do think that Knox is pretty sure where he's going and has been for some time.

Bottom line is I refuse to hang on the decisions of 18 year olds. If Knox wants to sign with UNC, fine. If he doesn't, that's fine as well. I wish him the best wherever he matriculates.

Knox is not coming the Chapel Hill. He never was and it's just as well. UNC and Roy's system and style are simply not appealing to OADs. Fine with me.

He'll be at dook or UK, where OADs are guaranteed to get center stage every year.

"I don't know what you expect in life. I'd be delighted if you chose our program. But know this, we will win with you, or we will win without you. Winning is what we do." --Dean Smith (when recruiting Ralph Sampson)
and Dean went on to do so.

If I were Kevin Knox, I'd be going to Kentucky. The choice is pretty obvious. Calipari has created a perfect system for OADs to shine.

Roy's system is a lot like Dean's. It's more of a team-first system.

Kentucky is a logjam. He may not even start there. So many recruits incoming and that is not even counting if Bam comes back.

I try to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. I think just as a 17 year old it can be hard to understand what the perception of your comments will be sometimes (heck, people a lot older than that struggle with it).

He says in the latest interview (the one you're referencing) that he lifts weights "every now and then". But I can't believe he's not on some regimented program. I think he just doesn't know how to interview well.

Similar with saying he doesn't care that we won a championship. I appreciate the honesty, although anyone who knows a lick about PR would know that's not really the wisest thing to say. Give lip service to it at least.

Knox is still maturing, but he would be a big help for next year at the wing. That said, reading the tea leaves from the interviews it seems unlikely we'll get him.
