As Kyree Campbell and his mother Kim stood inside Kevin Kelly’s dorm room during a July visit to Wyoming Seminary Prep, Kim sought clarity on one particular object in Kelly’s kitchen.
“Is that the infamous table?” Kim asked Kelly. Kelly, Wyoming Seminary’s first-year head football coach, acknowledged it was.
Kelly had informed Campbell earlier that while football was important, academics took priority. And if the Woodbridge High School graduate failed to put his school work first, Kelly warned Campbell he’d find himself at the kitchen table under Kelly’s watchful eye.
When asked if Campbell clearly understood Kelly’s point, he responded in the affirmative.

Campbell said he has not closed the door on North Carolina.
